12/08/2016 PVR,1:15am 80% Pretham is a non-boring entertainer with adequate amount of comedy, thrills & slight horror. The movie has nothing extraordinary to boast off,all it offers is just 127 minutes of entertainment.Ranjith diverted from his usual pattern, the making is fresh, the pace was exact which kept this movie away from major lags.Performances are superb from the lead cast.Jayan did a fine job portraying the role of a mentalist with right amount of subtlety & intensity, when it comes to performance oriented roles,he is definitely one among the best in mollywood .Aju & Sharafudheen lighted up most of the scenes with their perfect comedy timing & funny one-liners.Supporting cast did their roles nicely - Gp,Dharmajan,Pearly,Vijay Babu & all others were good in their roles. 1st half moved on a lighter note, comedies were dominant in the former half with the build-up for the horror setting.Once Jayan appears on the screen, the movie slowly moves to its thriller genre.Interval punch is good.2nd half is also entertaining with some nice comedies & engaging moments. But the climax and revelations were not up to the build-up,it could have been a lot better. Technically,Pretham is good.Even though the picture is limited to just one location for 3/4th of its running time,Dop was good capturing the complete resort superbly, helicam shots were worth mentioning.Editing is fine. The movie has just one song which is good.Bgm is superb,a big plus in this flick.Direction by Ranjith is good, the movie doesn't have an intriguing plot, but he managed to make this engaging by mixing the right amount of entertainment factors. In Short,if you enter the theater halls without larger expectations, you will definitely end up liking this. Overall,Pretham Entertains ! +ves Jayan Aju & Sharaf Supporting Cast Direction Dop,Bgm -ves Climax could have been better - still ok Verdict : Entertainer ! Rating : 6.5/10 B.O Verdict : Hit
