Date : 25/01/2017 Theater : Q Cinemas Time : 7:00pm Status : 100% Once a King,Always a King Retro Setup,Engaging Plot,Entertaining narration with perfect mix of mass and class and above all,King Khan's astounding performance makes this a superbly crafted commercial entertainer.Raees is SRK's most awaited movie in recent years,extremely happy that the wait was indeed worth.With every element needed for a mass masala entertainer,Rahul Dhokalia has packaged a neat and engaging cinema.Raees can be watched just for King Khan,so happy to see him in complete form after a long gap.Eventhough Fan brought out his acting prowess,Raees is undoubtedly a goosebumps stuff.From the intro itself,SRK shoulders the film with his matchless screen presence,powerful dialogues and fabulous performance,some of the scenes were brilliant and was indeed a treat to watch,extremely happy being his hardcore fan.Nawazudeen Siddiqui is another brilliant performer,his subtle mannerisms and dialogue delivery had a certain amount of charm and fineness,SRK-Nawaz combo scenes were pure class,every scene featuring both these power-house performers together were remarkable.Mahira Khan did a commendable job playing the female lead,she performed easily without any hiccups a debutante.Supporting Cast were good in their respective roles. Technically Sound,Raees is a quality product.K.U Mohanan's cinematography is stunning,the vintage Gujarat was brought out superbly through his alluring frames.Editing was good,with a perfect running time of about 143 minutes,it was nicely done.Songs were good,Dhingana and Zaalima were the best among the albums.Bgm is good,it was elevating in some of the sequences,the best bgm was undoubtedly in the pre-climax shooting scene.First Half is Superb with some massy scenes to cater the fans,it sets the base for the movie and mainly shows the growth of the central character.The pre-interval portions were superb and when Laila song was mixed with one terrific goosebumps scene,it was enthralling.Second Half is equally good with a stellar climax.Eventhough there were some minor lags in between the second half,the final 20 minutes were so superb that it made the cinema to a whole new level.The pre-climax portions were massy and the film ended on a high note with a stunning end,a neat and superb wrap to the enthralling tale of Raees. Rahul Dholakia as the director did a smart and impressive job.He made this a completely appealing cinema by mixing both mass and class in the exact ratio.The film has enough and more elements to satisfy both the masses and the movie lovers.His making had a certain amount of panache,it was well polished and finely detailed.The way he characterized both Raees and Jaideep is worth mentioning,both are poles apart and that indeed made the proceedings interesting.The final shot and dialogue is enough to know Dhokalia's mettle as a brilliant filmmaker,it was a brilliant ending.In short,Raees is a complete feast for both SRK fans and masala movie lovers and for others,this is definitely a good watch.
