Date : 23/04/2017 Theater : Q Cinemas Time : 10:15am Status : 70% Rakshadhikari Baiju is a refreshingly honest and absorbing tale of a village and the residents surrounding it.The realistic and down-to-earth narrative supported by a bunch of vivid performances encapsulates this to be a good cinema.BijuMenon played the title character with aplomb, here we can witness both his inimitable comic timing and the beautiful performer inside him. There is always a certain amount of panache and flamboyance through which Biju Menon enacts every character, and as Baiju,he was at his best delivering one of his finest act till date. The supporting cast deserves a great applause for delivering such authentic performances, every single actor were top notch.Since there is a huge array of supporting actors, mentioning each of their performances requires a pretty good amount of time,so its better to skip that part.Padmaraj Ratheesh was the only actor to deliver a sub-par performance, his character was totally unnecessary and the scenes featuring him were the weakest portions in this cinema. On the technical front,Rakshadhikari Baiju is a notable product. The cinematography is worth mentioning since it captured the unadulterated beauty of the village with top quality.Editing was okay, the length could have been easily trimmed if few of the unwanted sub-plots were erased.Music was fine, though the songs weren't of great quality, the alluring visuals converted it into a decent note. The minimal usage of background scores helped in maintaining a realistic environment.Without any second thoughts,Ranjan Pramod made a superb comeback crafting a charming and lively cinema. This one perfectly stamps the mettle of Ranjan as an experienced Filmmaker. On the whole,Rakshadhikari Baiju is exuberant cinema which has ample amount of nostalgic moments and entertaining factors. Overall,Rakshadhikari Baiju is Good ! 7.5/10
