Can Robot 2 smash all records box office records in hindi also due to the presence of Akshay Kumar?

A. Robot 2 is a Rajnikant film, not an Akshay Kumar film, he is the villain a bit like what Sanjay Dutt was in Agneepath and Vivek Oberoi was in Krrish 3. Even in the Hindi belt the audience will see it as an Rajnikant film as you can't change the theatrical trailer and present it as Akshay Kumar film who is villain. The plus will be that Robot was a huge hit on television so recall value is there and the key will be how grand is the scale of film. These things could make the opening like a big Hindi release in the hindi markets despite it being dubbed. At an all India level it can be anything with a star like Rajnikant there as South records will be shattered.

Akshay Kumar To Get Equal Screen Space As Rajinikanth In Robot 2.0


This is a great news for all Akshay Kumar fans out there. As per the media reports, Akshay Kumar will get equal screen space as Rajinikanth in all Robot 2.0 promotional events.

Robot 2 has a huge budget of 350 crores. In order to recover this and emerged as a success at the Box Office, the movie needs to perform well not only in south India but in north India as well. As Akshay Kumar enjoys a huge fan following in north Indian circuits, the makers are promoting Robot as Akshay-Rajinikanth movie rather than a Rajinikanth movie. The fact that Robot wasn’t a success in Hindi belts has prompted the makers to market Robot 2 as Akshay Kumar film.

A source close to the film says, “The thing is, the producers of 2.0 hope to sell the film to the Hindi belt on the basis of AK’s presence there. For all his iconic status, Rajini’s films don’t work in North India. With Akshay Kumar playing the villain against Rajnikanth, the makers of 2.0 hope to make a killing in both the Hindi and non-Hindi markets. Hence the film will be marketed as a two-hero film all across the country.”

 

It’s official that Superstar Rajinikanth’s much-awaited sci-fi entertainer 2 Point 0 will storm the box office for Diwali 2017. With Diwali falling on a Wednesday (Oct 18th) we can expect a 5-day opening weekend for 2 Point 0, as pointed by us earlier.

A superstar film is a festival by itself but when was the last time we had a Rajini film release during India’s biggest festival Diwali? That was in 1995 when Muthu hit the screens for Diwali. So 2.0 will be Rajini’s 1st Diwali release in 22 years.

Likewise, 2 Point 0 will be Shankar’s 2nd Diwali release. Muthalvan is the only other Shankar film that has been released on Diwali.

The grand first look launch event of Shankar-Rajinikanth’s high budget sci-fi thriller, 2.0, took place in Mumbai last night amid the presence of some of the country’s most adored celebrities.



Even as fans are thrilled with the just released first look posters, director Shankar took the excitement to an all-time high with his thrilling revelation. Shankar had confirmed last night that there will be a third part in the Robo franchise. However, the maverick genius didn’t reveal any additional details about the part 3.

Meanwhile, 2.0 is nearing its completion and the team will soon get busy with an exhaustive post-production work. The film is slated to open in cinemas during Diwali, 2017.
