The First look posters of '2.0' featuring Superstar Rajinikanth and Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has taken the already huge expectations to much more heights.

Now an exciting information we learn from sources will make it much bigger.

The film already will see the clash of titans from Kollywood and Bollywood as the protagonist and antagonist respectively. We learn that the film budgeted at around a whopping Rs.350 crores will also have the presence of a Tollywood star.

The source say that director Shankar is keen on bringing in megastar Chiranjeevi or Prince Mahesh Babu for a cameo role. Already Rajinikanth is as popular among Telugu audience as he is among Tamils and all of his films get a rousing reception in Telugu speaking states. If a star from Telugu industry is included it will be difficult to think of the magnitude of expectation and opening the film will get in Telugu states.

However in case of big ticket films like '2.0' anything can happen. Lyca Productions are ready to break the roof to present the film as the pride of Indian Cinema. Likewise rumors are also bound to rise day in and day out in connection with such big films.

So we will have to wait for an official confirmation or a concrete information from any of the persons involved in the film to know whether this piece of exciting info is true or just yet another baseless rumor.

'2.0' is the sequel to 2010 blockbuster 'Enthiran' which stars Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar, Amy Jackson, Adhil Hussain, Sudhanshu Pandey and many others.

 

For some days now, it has been reported that '2.0' could well see a spectacular cameo from someone from Tollywood. The film already will see the clash of titans from Kollywood and Bollywood as the protagonist and antagonist respectively.

Our source says that director Shankar is keen on bringing in either Megastar Chiranjeevi or Prince Mahesh Babu for a cameo role.

This makes one wonder if the role is inconsequential to the story. It's because Chiru and Mahesh come with contrasting onscreen images. And Shankar must be thinking of casting whichever star comes on board as himself. Will a character in the movie be shown as meeting that star for some purpose? In which case, there should be a spectacular cameo in the Tamil and Hindi versions as well.

Nothing is confirmed as yet. For all we know, Shankar would be the last person to go for a pointless cameo. That's for sure.

 

Akshay Kumar to get top billing with Rajinikanth in 2.0


Akshay Kumar is getting top billing in the Robot sequel all across the country. It is reliably learnt that all the posters, teasers, trailers and promotional material for the eagerly-awaited film would carry Akshay Kumar alongside Rajinikanth.
This is unusual for a Rajinikanth starrer, where all other actors barring the ‘Thalaiva’ get lower billing.
Says a source very close to the film, “The thing is that the producers of Robot 2.0 hope to sell the film to the Hindi belt on the basis of Akshay Kumar’s presence. For all his iconic status, Rajini’s films do not work in North India. Even Robot, in 2010, was not a big success in Hindi. With Akshay Kumar playing against Rajinikanth, the makers of Robot 2.0 hope to make a kill in both the Hindi and non-Hindi market. Hence, the film will be marketed as a Rajinikanth–Akshay Kumar two-hero film all across the country.”

 

There will be a major fight sequence between Akshay & Rajinikant. Makers have spent 20 cr for this just one, but most thrilling sequence.

 

With the first look poster release of Superstar Rajinikanth's '2.0' it has been officially confirmed that the grand sequel to the blockbuster 'Enthiran' will be released 3D format.

In the exclusive interview to Red Carpet IndiaGlitz, Raju Mahalingam, the Creative Head of Lyca Productions bankrolling this mammoth project says this is the first Indian film to be entirely shot in 3D.. "2'.0' has been entirely shot with 3D camera." In other words '2.0' directed by the master of magnum opuses Shankar has been Created in 3D and not converted to the format after being shot in regular format.

In the past may Hollywood films and quite a few Indian films including Tamil films have released in 3D format. But only a select few movie halls across the country are equipped to scree films in their 3D version. However for '2.' it will not be the case as Lyca has been chalking out huge plans to support all the theatres to adopt to the 3D technology.

"End of the day we are going to watch the film in theatres. The quality of film viewing experience we get in cosmopolitan cities like Mumbai, Chennai and Coimbatore, we wanted the same to happen in second tier and third tiers cities towns. We are planning to pull in all the theatre owners, have a sort of conference organised in each and every state throughout India and get in the 3D equipment suppliers to help them. The suppliers and theatre owners can have mutual discussions and negotiations. We are providing that platform. We want to make more and more theatres come into the 3D segment. End of the day people each and every place will get to enjoy Rajini sir so close to their eyes. "

The confident young professional also gave a sneak peak of how the 3D experience of the film is going to be:

"I took my ten year old son to the shooting spot. After shooting we can watch the output with a 3D glass. While watching the portion he tried to catch Rajini sir. Even though he know it is not real. Such a high-fi technology has been used. I am sure all the kids through out the world will enjoy."

 

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar is currently working on his Tamil debut '2.0' with Superstar Rajinikanth. Though he plays the antagonist, his character is most pivotal in the film as the Superstar himself admitted that 'Akshay is the hero and I am the villain of the film" underlining the importance of Akki's character in the film.

Initially the photos leaked from the shooting spot of the film featured Akshay in a crow's getup. Now it has been confirmed that the big star of Indian Cinema plays an avid bird lover in the film. His crucial scenes in the film are with a lot of birds.

Sources also add that thousands of birds such as macaws, cockatoos and African Grey Parrots were used for the shooting that happened in Chengalpet and Tirukazhukundram. These birds allegedly play an important role in taking forward the story of the film.

Directed by Shankar, '2.0' is the sequel to the 2010 blockbuster 'Enthiran'. The film is being bankrolled by Lyca Productions on a whopping budget of Rs.400 crores.
