"If Thrill is lost, everything is Lost...." Decent Set up A Serial killer bent upon abusing school girls, finds his latest victim in Sarah, the daughter of David Naninan, the protagonist. And the Great Father seeks revenge on the malicious serial killer. Motive is Fine The great father has a strong motive for revenge....something almost all modern parents can relate to. Opportunity was There... With a solid motive for revenge, justifiable in the eyes of public, TGF had a tremendous potential to be developed into a griping revenge saga. The Stage was Set Right... With the focuss on the family elements, the film maker has gone for a detailed prelude for the revenge of David. The bonding between the daughter and father is well drawn. The traumatic events too well presented with restraint, making use of the legendary acting skills of Mammootty..... Then, What went wrong? The Great promises made in the former half is betrayed in the latter half. The second half is a total chaos, with a confused film maker with no idea on how to handle the stuff....the little tension that laboriously created in first half is released. In it's place, glossy frames gets filled. Parade for Fans.... The hero just walks out of his SUV wearing jacket and cooling glass with a gun in his hand...He questions goons and suspects and delivers one liners of self worship, expecting whistles from front benchers... Stock Characterisation The Cop & his team doing undercover investigation into atrocities against children, were a total waste...reminding biju menon characters in films like Chinthamani kolacase...But, this time it's worse, because he steals a large chunk of screen time with zero benefit, just to boost the hero. Fatal Flaw "If Thrill is lost, everything is Lost...." Thrill factor is the beauty of any onsreen revenge drama.... The thrill comes from the epic struggle of protagonist against the fiercest adversaries...Films that have compromised with the thrill factor had found dusters in the past..... TGF is the latest example of a film failing in the area that mattered most, a tragic case of how a revenge drama should not be made....... Verdict A Revenge Drama gone awry Recommendation Recommended for fan fanatics, finding bliss at the sight of their Idol in cooling glass, jacket, with a a Gun in hand!
