We all know Kamal as an actor, his comic sensibilities, his ability to emote deeply and his powerful voice delivery. But do we know the director side of him? 24's DoP Tirru who had worked in Kamal's earlier directorial venture Hey Ram had something to tell us regarding the director side of Kamal during a recent interview with him:

"Ulaganayagan is a powerful writer more than anything else. When I was given the script for Hey Ram, and asked to read it, I took a day's time to finish it. I felt that it was a step ahead of any of the world's finest written scripts. I immediately asked him 'who is the cameraman?" and he said it was going to be me. Though I didn't believe I would be able to pull it off, he believed in me."

 

Kamal Haasan’s next ‘Sabhash Naidu’ directed by T.K Rajeev Kumar is all set to begin in the US from the 16th of this month. The Ulaganayagan brings back his popular Balram Naidu character with Brahmanandam as his sidekick.





‘Sabhash Naidu’ also has Ramya Krishnan as Kamal’s wife and Shruti Haasan as his daughter. Now we learn that popular American –Indian actor Manu Narayan has been signed on as Shruti’s pair in the film. Manu has played pivotal roles in films like ‘Love Guru’, ‘Wall Street – Money Never Sleeps’ and the lead role in the Broadway musical ‘Bombay Dreams’ by A.R.Rahman and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan and comedian Brahmanandam will join hands for the first time for an action sequence in the first schedule of upcoming trilingual action-comedySabaash Naidu.

In the film, which will feature Haasan as a RAW operative, Brahmanandam will be seen as his sidekick.





"In the first schedule which will start later this week in the US, Haasan and Brahmanandam will shoot for a chase sequence. The team will spend the first few days rehearsing for the scene and will eventually shoot the scene without body doubles," a source from the film's unit told IANS.

Directed by TK Rajeev Kumar, the film also stars Shruti Haasan, Ramya Krishnan and Roger Narayan in important roles. The Puliactress will play Haasan's reel daughter for the first time.

In the film's Hindi version, titled Sabaash Kundu, Saurabh Shukla will replace Brahmanandam.

Nearly 80 percent of the film will be shot in the USA. Maestro Ilaiyaraaja has already started working on the tunes. Produced by Haasan's Raaj Kamal International, the film will hit the screens worldwide on December 1st.

 

Ilaiyaraaja Starts Composing For Sabaash Naidu

Following an initial session with Kamal Hassan soon after the announcement of the film, Ilaiyaraja has now started composing seriously for Sabaash Naidu, his upcoming collaboration with the Ulaganayagan.

Ilaiyaraja will reportedly record the songs for this film in USA.

After casting his vote along with his family, Kamal Hassan will soon be leaving to the USA to begin the first schedule of Sabaash Naidu. The film is targeting a Diwali release

Star Tollywood comedian Brahmanandam is going to work with Kamal Haasan very soon for the film ‘Sabhash Naidu’. The movie’s action scenes will be shot in America from the end of this month and Brahmanandam is pretty excited about working with the Universal Star.

Acting with Kamal Haasan can be a learning experience for many and while Brahmanandam is a senior actor in his own right, he has not worked with Kamal Haasan until now. The movie is being produced by Kamal Haasan himself and T.K. Rajeev Kumar is the director.

Shruti Haasan will be seen as Kamal’s daughter in the movie and Ramya Krishna will be seen as Kamal’s wife. Music maestro Ilayaraja is composing the music for this movie.

 

Universal Star Kamal’s Shabhash Naidu, which is Raj Kamal Films's 41st film, is a Tamil-Telugu- Hindi trilingual directed by acclaimed Malayalam director T.K. Rajeev Kumar. The film's shoot has been kick-started in the US. Kamal plays a RAW officer in this film, which has Brahmanandam playing his assistant. About 80 pc of the film will be shot in that country.

Ramya Krishnan is paired up with Kamal and Shruthi Haasan shares screen space with her father after a long gap since Thevar Magan.

The Telugu audience will have a double treat because Kamal is now sharing screen space with Brahmi. On the other hand, the Tamil audience will get to watch a unique combination. As we all know Isaignani Ilaiyaraja and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan have teamed up for the upcoming film 'Sabash Naidu' after a gap of eleven long years. The film written and produced by Kamal under his Raj Kamal Films banner will be directed by T.K.Rajeev Kumar of 'Chanakyan' fame.

The septuagenarian composer has been active and giving a tough competition to the current generation music composers as he keeps working on multiple projects on any given time of the year. Now we learn that the maestro has already started composing the songs for 'Sabash Naidu' which will be made simultaneously made in Telugu and Hindi also which would mean that Raja will have to record all the songs thrice.

Meanwhile the shooting of 'Sabash Naidu' is all set to begin in Los Angeles, USA by this weekend. The team has planned to start the shoot with a chase sequence involving Kamal Haasan and Brahmanandam who will play Kamal's associate in the film in Tamil and Telugu versions while Saurabh Shukla will play the same role in the Hindi version.

The three actors will have rehearsals before the shoot and they will take part in the shooting without using body doubles. Kamal plays the RAW Agent Balram Naidu in the film while Brahmanandam and Saurabh Shukla are his associate int the different versions of the film. The film also has Ramya Krishnan and Shruti Haasan in central characters.
