    1985-1995 കാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ മലയാള സിനിമയിൽ ആക്ഷൻ സിനിമകളുടെ വസന്ത കാലത്തിനു വിത്ത് പാകിയ തമ്പി കണ്ണന്താനം ഓർമയായി. മോഹൻലാലിന് താര പരിവേഷം നൽകിയ രാജാവിന്റെ മകനിൽ തുടങ്ങി തുടർച്ചയായി ബോക്സ് ഓഫീസിൽ ഹിറ്റുകൾ സൃഷ്ടിച്ച തമ്പി-ലാൽ കൂട്ടുകെട്ട് ഒരു തലമുറയുടെ ആവേശമായി മാറി. ഒന്നാമൻ എന്ന ചിത്രം ഒഴിച്ചു നിർത്തിയാൽ ലാലിനെ വെച്ച് ചെയ്ത എല്ലാ സിനിമകളും ബോക്സ് ഓഫീസിൽ നേട്ടം കൊയ്തു.

    മലയാള സിനിമയിലെ എക്കാലത്തെയും മികച്ച ആക്ഷൻ സംവിധായകരിൽ ഒരാളായ ജോഷി പോലും പൈങ്കിളി സിനിമകളുടെ ഭാഗമായ കാലഘട്ടത്തിലാണ് തമ്പി കണ്ണന്താനം തോക്കുകളുടെ കഥയുമായി തരംഗം സൃഷ്ടിച്ചത്.....[​IMG]

    ഞാൻ രണ്ടാം ക്ലാസിൽ പഠിക്കുമ്പോൾ ആണ് 1990 ൽ തിരുവോണത്തിന് ഇന്ദ്രജാലം റിലീസ് ചെയ്യുന്നത്.....തീയറ്ററിൽ പോയി കണ്ട ആദ്യ തമ്പി കണ്ണന്താനം സിനിമ അതാണ്..... കണ്ണൻ നായർ ഹാജർ ഹോ..... ആദ്യമായി തീയറ്ററിൽ നിന്നും കയ്യടിച്ച ലാലേട്ടന്റെ intro.... പിന്നീട് തമ്പിയുടെ പടങ്ങൾക്കായി കാത്തു നിന്ന ഒരു കാലം.....1992 ൽ നാടോടിയും, വിയറ്റ്നാം കോളനിയും ഒരു മിച്ചു വന്നപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ കാണാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചതും ഏറ്റവും മികച്ച ഇനിഷ്യൽ നേടിയതും നാടോടി ആയിരുന്നു...... അതായിരുന്നു ലാൽ-തമ്പി കൂട്ട് കെട്ടിന്റെ crowd pulling power......

    തമ്പിയുടെ എല്ലാ പടത്തിലും ONV അല്ലെ ഗാന രചന..... SP വെങ്കിടേഷിന്റെ തട്ട് പൊളിപ്പാൻ ഗാനങ്ങൾക്ക് ഈണം നൽകാൻ ONV യെ പോലൊരു ലജൻറ്റ് ഒരു മടിയും കാണിച്ചില്ല എന്നത് വിസ്മയകരമാണ്.... It implies a great bond between the director and the poet...

    എന്നെ "രാജാവിൻ്റെ മകൻ " എന്ന് ആദ്യം വിളിച്ചയാൾ.... എൻ്റെ പ്രണവിനെ മൂവി ക്യാമറയ്ക്കു മുന്നിൽ നിർത്തി അഭിനയത്തിൻ്റെ ഹരിശ്രീ പഠിപ്പിച്ചു കൊടുത്ത സംവിധായകൻ..... പ്രിയപ്പെട്ട തമ്പി കണ്ണന്താനം..... കണ്ണീരോടെ വിട!
