Hrithik Roshan Starrer Thug’s Shooting Details
Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan is all set to start the shooting of his upcoming film Thug in September this year. Hrithik will play the character of a high profile thief in the movie and it will be directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, who previously helmed Dhoom: 3.


Hrithik is currently shooting for Sanjay Gupta’s Kaabil. After completing Kaabil, Hrithik will start promoting his adventure romance Mohenjo Daro.


Reports suggest that Amitabh Bachchan will also star in Thug. The female lead for the film is still not locked, but it is speculated that Deepika Padukone is in talks with Vijay Krishna Acharya for the lead role.

It is said that, YRF is planning to make a three film franchise of Thug with Hrithik Roshan in the lead.

Tale of Victor’s Thug



Here’s a really interesting story we came across this week. It is said that if it is in your destiny, it will come to you sooner or later, something that is very apt for Hrithik Roshan. A few years ago, Sanjay Leela Bhansali was to launch a new director with a film called Jhirni, based on a novel called Confession Of A Thug. Although Jr Roshan loved the script, he was keen that it should be directed by Bhansali himself. Hence he couldn’t be part of the project.
Later, Shahid Kapoor was approached for the same film and his father Pankaj Kapur was suppose to feature in it as well. But the film didn’t take off and Bhansali got busy with other movies.
Years later, which is now, Hrithik Roshan is all set to do a film called Thug for Yash Raj Films, being directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya (Victor). Apparently this film too is based on the book Confession Of A Thug. Imagine that!!
PS: It’s been 10 years since Victor has been toying with the idea of making a film based on this book. If sources are to be believed, Amitabh Bachchan will probably be playing Hrithik’s father in the film.
Confession Of A Thug is a tale of crime and retribution, set in 1832, in India. The story lays bare the practices of the ‘Thugs’, or deceivers, as they were called, who murdered travellers for money and valuables. This work was originally published in 1839 and reprinted in 1873.

 

Is Aamir Khan Replacing Hrithik Roshan In Thug?
Thug has been one of the most-talked about projects recently. The film, which seemed to have had all the elements to make up a great entertainer, was earlier to star Hrithik Roshan in the lead.


Sadly, the film has been on a grave delay thanks to its casting and now it seems Hrithik may be replaced, after Big B opting out of the film.


Thug is supposed to be helmed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and if reports are to be believed, the director may now rope in his Dhoom 3 actor Aamir Khan in the lead.

We hear, Hrithik opted out of this project saying he wanted to wait to see how his upcoming film Mohenjo Daro fares and then make a decision. Also, after getting more inclined with the script of Sanjay Gupta’s Kaabil, the actor started working on the same.

Thug is yet to zero down on a leading lady too. Earlier, Deepika Padukone ousted from this project!

 

Hrithik Roshan To Star In Shahenshah Remake?

If gossip mongers are to be believed, Hrithik Roshan has been considered to play the lead role in the remake of Amitabh Bachchan starrer classic Shahenshah.


The makers of the movie are planning for the remake and they have Hrithik on their mind to portray the role of Sr. Bachchan. Some reports even suggest that Hrithik has liked the idea and is looking forward for the project.


However, Naresh Malhotra the producer of the original movie has neither confirmed or denied the project’s news. While interacting with a leading website, he said that he has no idea about the remake, the rights of the film are with him and the final discussion are yet to be made.

Hrithik had earlier starred in the remake of Big B’s Agneepath in 2012. He is currently busy for the promotions of his next movie Mohenjo Daro, which is slated for release on 12th August.
