Mourinho has already signed Victor Lindelof from Benfica this summer and is keen to further improve his defensive options before the end of August. That is likely to spell the end of Smalling’s seven-year United career, with Arsenal and West Brom among the clubs to be linked with a bid for the England international. WEST HAM END GIROUD INTEREST West Ham have ended their interest in signing Olivier Giroud after learning they are not the Arsenal striker’s first choice, according to Sky Sports. Giroud has been linked with a move away from Arsenal following the club record signing of Alexandre Lacazette, and West Ham had been keen to sign the France international. However, with Everton, Borussia Dortmund and Marseille also reportedly chasing Giroud, the Hammers have pulled out of the race. DORTMUND IN FOR GIROUD Borussia Dortmund will look to sign Olivier Giroud as a replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should the striker depart for Chelsea, reports the Mirror. The France international is not confident of his place at Arsenal after the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette and may now be keen on a move away from the Gunners. Dortmund would join Everton, West Ham and AC Milan in the race to sign Giroud.
