Now that the release of Mahesh Babu’s Brahmotsavam is nearing soon, the last minute formalities are on full swing. Latest update now reveals that the film will go for its censor screening on Monday. Being a family entertainer, the hopes on this project are humongous and the trade pundits are expecting some huge openings. Already, the music of the film has caught on big time and have created a good hype for the project. Directed by Srikanth Addala, Brahmotsavam has Kajal, Samantha and Prinatha as the female leads.
PVP Cinema and Mahesh Babu are doing their best to release their latest film Brahmotsavam in different areas of the world. Latest update reveals that the film will release in close to 12 cities in Germany. This is the first time that a Telugu film is releasing in so many centers in Germany. Mahesh Babu has a huge fan base and with the Telugu population scattered all over the world, the makers have planned such wide release. Directed by Srikanth Addala, Brahmotsavam is also releasing hugely in US and UK.
Getting ambitious. That's the word. After the phenomenal success of Srimanthudu in the US market, Mahesh Babu is understandably aiming to steal a march over everyone else in the US market with his family entertainer Brahmotsavam. The genre only makes it possible for him to reach out to the overseas Telugu audience, who are said to love softcore entertainers to the core. The BO collections of Srimanthudu, Oopiri and 24 recently, are two of the bright examples that come to ones mind. According to certain reports, the makers/distributors are planning to hold premiere shows by dime a dozen. Remember that Classic Entertainments had bought the overseas distribution rights of this Srikanth Addala directorial for a whopping Rs. 13 cr. Mahesh's last was a phenomenal hit in the US, standing next only to Baahubali. Baahubali collected $6 million last year. After this, Srimanthudu at $2.89 million holds the record for being the next highest grosser. The third highest position was held by Attarintiki Daredi, at $1.89 mllion. Needless to say, Brahmotsavam might cross the $3 million mark easily, given the humongous release on May 19 (that is, the premieres day).
There was a film which was titled after Mahesh Babu's character, but Mahesh was not addressed by anyone as such by any character. It was Arjun, the Gunasekhar directorial. In Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, Mahesh Babu had no name. He was addressed as 'Chinnodu', meaning the younger brother of 'Peddodu', who was played by Venkatesh. Asked if Mahesh's character has a name in Brahmotsavam, the superstar has told a media house that he has no name in this film either. Saying that Srikanth Addala's characters don't need names, Mahesh makes it clear that he has no name. The movie deals with tender emotions and has three divas cast opposite Mahesh - Kajal, Samantha and Pranitha, the last one playing his 'maradalu'. Mahesh was tensed on day one of the shoot because it was a schedule in which several senior actors, including Sathyaraj, Revathi, Jayasudha took part. Since it was a song that was being shot, Mahesh became comfortable soon afterwards.
