    DJ ends up as a routine fare due a mediocre script and disappointing handling. It is at best a one-time watch for the masses and Bunny fans. It has to be seen how it fares at the box office.

    Duvvada Jagannadha Sastry (Allu Arjun) is a Vegetarian Brahmin Cook in Satyanarayana Agraharam of Vijayawada. While he delights the people there with his culinary skills, he has another side, DJ who executes some murders in Hyderabad to help the victims of Agri Diamond Scam. Rest of the story is all about how and why a Brahmin boy has to turn into a violent DJ.

    Though Allu Arjun is decent in Brahmin role, he couldn't go near NTR's performance in Adhurs as Chari. But he is at his usual best in the role of DJ excelling in Action and Dances. Pooja Hegde's character has no meat but she spices up the proceedings with her glamour. Rao Ramesh as Villain Royyala Naidu is good. Vennela Kishore, Subba Raju, Murali Sharma and others are okay in the roles they are offered.

    The first half of the film switches between entertainment and violence. While the entertainment part is good, the undercover operations of DJ are not convincing. The interval also has got no twist or bang and that sums up the average first half. The second half is a big letdown with a disappointing climax. Allu Arjun's dances in Seetimar song is the only highlight. The main issue with DJ is its weak and routine story which has no twists and turns. Harish Shankar as a director has failed here. But he wrote some very good dialogues.

    The music album delivered by Devi Sri Prasad and the background score is excellent. Ayanaka Bose's Camera work is very impressive and it is complimented by the grand production values of Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations. Editor Chota K Prasad should have worked well in the second half.

    Finally, DJ ends up as a routine fare due to a mediocre script and disappointing handling. It is at best a one-time watch for the masses and Bunny fans. It has to be seen how it fares at the box office.
