Slated to release on July 6, 2016, Sultan, features Salman Khan and Anushka Sharmain leading roles. The movie is a about a small town wrestler who quits the game, only to resurface stronger later on.

Grabbing headlines for the rigorous training that the leads had to undergo for their respective roles, Sultan’s trailer came with a promise that the film would open up big. And now YRF has announced that the trailer for Sultan has turned out to be the most liked Bollywood trailer on Youtube.

 

The Censor Board loves Salman Khan, err, loved Sultan. The CBFC had been grabbing headlines earlier in the month for its archaic stance on Udta Punjab, suggesting 90 something odd cuts. However, the word is that they have simply loved Sultan, and have cleared the film without a single cut.

As per a report by Bollywood Hungama, a source from the CBFC had quoted, "We found not a word or a shot that needed to be cut. Salman Khan has always been part of films that cater to the entire family. Sultan is his most family-oriented film in years."

Sultan has been given a UA certificate keeping in mind the ‘violent spirit’ of wrestling.

The advance of Sultan opened to and excellent response on Sunday but it will be sometime tomorrow that it will be known where it stands with the likes of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Dhoom 3 and Happy New Year as its been just one day so far. The poor first half of 2016 with business failing to beat the first half of 2015 despite a better flow of films means any chance of a half decent year is dependent on Sultan becoming a big hit.



The weekend was one of the worst of the year as Shorgul had a very poor weekend as it collected just 1.25 crore nett in its first weekend. Udta Punjab was still was the best collecting Hindi film at around 1.75 crore nett taking its total to around 58 crore nett plus.



The Legend Of Tarzan was below the mark with around 7.25 crore nett over the weekend and is probably looking to close at around 10 crore nett as will not collect much from Wednesday onwards.



Housefull 3 was still running at places in its fifth week and is closing on 108 crore nett apprx.

 

Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma ‘s much awaited sports drama, ‘Sultan’ is all set to hit the screens on July 6. The producers are willing to take ‘Sultan’ in new territories and are planning a grand global release of the movie. Apparently, ‘Sultan’ will be releasing in Japan but in limited screens on 9th July.

Reportedly, three shows have been allotted to ‘Sultan’ in Japan. The response for the film will decide whether to increase the number of shows or not.

Space Box Jam, a distributor agency specializing in the release of Hindi films in Japan will release the film there.

 

Just few days left for Salman Khan’s most anticipated movie of 2016 will hit theatres, the film’s advance bookings have commenced and the response is beyond imagination. Salman Khan’s star power has worked again in his favor and the movie has already been declared ‘hit’ even before its release.

Salman Khan’s fans will enjoy more screen time with him than usual when ‘Sultan’ releases this Eid. The film’s running time clocks in at two hours and 50 minutes, making it one of the longest films in his career.

According to film exhibitor Nadeem Mandviwala all the shows of ‘Sultan’ on the first five days have already been sold out in Pakistani cinemas.

“This Eid ul-Fitr, ‘Sultan’ is expected to be the most profitable film among the multiple releases lining up at the theatres. What remains to be seen is whether it will break the several box office records set by ‘Jawani Phir Nahi Ani’ last year,” said Geo Films representative, Muhammad Nasir, Indian media reported.

Geo Films are also the distributors of ‘Sultan’ in Pakistan.

The movie which stars Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles, will hit theaters on Eid first day (Wednesday).
