One of the major releases that had graced the screens here in Kerala was Thana Serntha Koottam starred by Nadippin Nayakan Suriya and directed by Vignesh Sivan. The director had scripted the movie as well. This is a heist film, which has been produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja in association with Suriya’s Studio Green. Vignesh Sivan had shot to fame through his first movie named “Nanum Rowdy Than” in which Vijay Sethupathy and Nayan Thara played the lead. Some reports suggest that Thana Serntha Koottam is a remake of the popular Akshay Kumar starrer Hindi movie named Special 26, which released some years back.

The plot of this flick revolves around a group of characters, who forms a team to do a heist. But in order to do such a thing, they follow some interesting methods. The film tells us about what they do to complete the heist successfully and why they do it.We have to say that Vignesh Sivan once again had done a terrific job as a director. He had made a perfect entertainer with a right mix of everything in it. The screenplay has been great and the dialogues were hilarious and powerful. Each and every character had their own space in the story and the plot situations were convincing too. He had written a tight screenplay and it has everything audience want to see from a Suriya movie. But while making it as a Suriya movie, the director made it sure that he had a tight grip on the proceedings and made it as a Vignesh Sivan movie as well. The comedy elements worked really well along with the thrilling and suspenseful plot situations. That thrill and comedy together made the film a clean entertainer.
The performance from Suriya has been the highlight of this flick. He had given his best once again and the way he presented his character has to be get appreciated. His energy and screen presence has been fabulous as well. Keerthy Suresh who played the female lead in this movi9e had done a very good job. Her chemistry with Suriya has been great too. Others like Karthik, Ramya Krishnan, Kalaiyarasan, Nandha, RJ Balaji, Senthil, Thambi Ramaiah, Anandaraj, Sathyan, Sivasankar, Vinodhini Vaidyanathan, Brahmanandam, Suresh Chandra Menon, Sudhakar etc had done a great job as well and their performance itself made this movie worth a watch.DOP from Dinesh Krishnan was good as his visuals set the tone of the movie. Anirudh Ravichander once again rocked with his sizzling music. The songs were superb and the background music had elevated the movie to another level. Sreekar Prasad had edited the flick and his sharp cuts had made the movie to flow at a great pace.
In Total, Thana Serntha Koottam is a complete entertainer which will never disappoint you. It has everything in it for every type of audience and it will worth each and every penny you spend to watch it. Go For it.
