Thaana Serndha Kootam has a low first week of ₹55.68 crore in India. Opening of the film wasn’t upto the mark and trend was never really there. Film had some decent numbers over the Holiday period but once that end it came down fast. It grossed ₹34.5 crore in Tamil Nadu with last 2 days grossing mere ₹4 crore, sums it all. Film’s Telugu version, Gang had a better trend than the original format but overall remained low. You can check the film’s territorial breakup here.

Saturday : ₹8.79 crore

Sunday : ₹10.82 crore

Monday : ₹10.33 crore

Tuesday : ₹8.16 crore

Thursday : ₹3.44 crore

Total : 55.68 crore

Film needed to gross around ₹90 crore across India for being a successful venture but as things were on Thursday, film will probably wind up around ₹70-75 crore. This make up yet another failure for Suriya who is going through a dry spell of career with last Hit film back in 2013 in form of Singam 2.
