    Vishnu Unnikrishnan and Bibin George are familiar to the audience for infusing 'katta local' vibes in their films. The duo had scripted the upcoming Dulquer film Oru Yamandan Premakadha which will release on April 25. But when they approached DQ with their script, the star was a little hesitant as he had not done movvies of that genre and said that Mammootty would be more apt for it. They duo then approached Mammukka and the megastar had made some suggestions. The duo had inculcated his suggestions and with the altered script they approached DQ again. Hence DQ was roped in to do the role of Lalu. The film has Vishnu, Soubin Shahir, Salim Kumar, Nikhila Vimal, Samyukta Menon and many others in the cast.
