There is a rumour doing the rounds that Vikram's Saamy-2 to be directed by Hari has been put on hold as the actor has signed back-to-back films with Vijay Chander and Gautham Vasudev Menon. It is said that as Vikram will be completely busy with these two projects till the end of 2017 and hence, chances for Saamy-2 looks bleak. Remember that director Hari made a surprise Saamy 2 announcement during the audio launch of Iru Mugan saying that the film will be produced by Shibu Thameens and Harris Jayaraj will be composing the music. Sify.com spoke to producer Shibu Thameens and he confirmed that this is a mere rumour and Hari and his eight-member team are working round the clock on the script and the film will start rolling around April-2017.

Maverick director Mani Ratnam has successfully completed the shoot of his upcoming film ‘Kaatru Veliyidai’. Produced by Madras Talkies, Sri Thenandal Films will be releasing the film in Tamil Nadu. The official Twitter handle of Thenandal Films posted “And that's a wrap to the much awaited #KaatruVeliyidai! #ManiRatnam #ManiMagic #ReleasingMarch2017@arrahman @Karthi_Offl @aditiraohydari”. Touted to be a romantic entertainer, the film also has Karthi, Aditi Rao Hydari, RJ Balaji, Shraddha Srinath and Delhi Ganesh playing the lead roles. Ravi Varman of Barfi and Vettaiyadu Vilayadu fame has handled the cinematography for the film and AR Rahman is taking care of the songs and backgrounds. Kaatru Veliyidai is all set to release on March 2017.
