http://www.sify.com/movies/kodiveer...n-entertainer-review-tamil-rmhrEvahagfca.html The first ten minutes of Kodiveeran is truly shocking with a hard hitting episode but post that the film turns out to be a predictable rural action entertainer. The dialogues are over the top glorifying the mass image of Sasikumar. However, the sister sentiment and realistic rural backdrop are the pluses, The screenplay is outdated with regular elements. Sasikumar fits the bill perfectly for the village angry man character but he has to change his usual mannerism and body language. Pasupathy as the deadly villain steals the show. Sanusha is pretty and lively whereas Mahima is just adequate and the much hyped Poorna doesn't have any big scope. SR Karthi's cinematography rightly captures the rural areas but music composer NR Raghunanthan's work is not up to the mark. Overall, Kodiveeran is an average rural action entertainer with sister sentiment as its major highlight. Verdict- Mundane rural action entertainer
http://www.sify.com/movies/sathya-r...redictability-review-tamil-rmijnLgbabiia.html No fancy slo-mo shots, no piercing sound effects, every frame is crafted lovingly. The cinematography is stylish and evocative, and Simon K King’s songs (Yavvanna, Sanggu) and BGM stands out. The film’s production design is top-class and another impressive aspect of Sathya is the witty and catchy dialogues of Karthik Krishna. If there’s one problem with Sathya , it is the unpredictability which becomes monotonous in the second half and the climax looks rushed. To be fair, the acting is consistently top-notch across the board. It is Sibi Sathyaraj’s best ever performance and he is the glue that holds this film together. He delivers an intricate, nuanced performance that's hard to fault. Ramya Nambeesan delivers yet another fine performance and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar shines in a new look and her climax portion is a revelation. For a change Sathish does a serious role and he is good. Sathya is essential viewing, a film that deserves to be watched, especially for its masterful film-making. It is an intelligent edge-of-the- seat crime thriller. Verdict: Good
