Geetanjali was one of the Telugu sleeper hits of 2014, and it starred Anjali in the titular role. The horror-comedy, which appealed to both masses and the classes, is now being remade in Tamil. The remake was initially planned to be made with Anjali, who is quite popular in Tamil too. However, we've learnt that the opportunity has been passed on to Trisha. The makers are said to have recently approached Trisha, who is on a spree of signing horror films. Having recently starred in Aranmanai 2 and upcoming Nayaki, she has also signed another horror flick with director Madhesh, and it will be predominantly shot abroad. It looks like she might also sign the Tamil remake of Geetanjali. While the news is yet to be confirmed, sources indicate that the official announcement will be made soon.

Recently, a still of Jayam Ravi and Aravind Swamy in the same frame dressed as cops has hit social media, posting the question as to whether both of them would be playing the roles of police officers in the film. However, when sources close to the team were contacted, they brushed away the news saying that only Jayam Ravi would be donning the khaki, and Aravind Swamy would be coming in for one of the scenes as a cop. It was first being said that Aravind Swamy plays the role of a sage in Bogan, and his character would be visiting earth to toggle Jayam Ravi's life, indicating the crux of the comic entertainer. Lakshman who earlier delivered a hit for Jayam Ravi in Romeo Juliet directs Bogan. Being the actor's 20th film, it is being funded by Prabhu Deva and has Hansika as the lead heroine.
We had reported earlier that Raghava Lawrence will be replacing Kannada superstar Shivrajkumar in the Tamil remake of the blockbuster hit ‘Shivalinga’ directed by P. Vasu. While Vadivelu has been signed on to play a very important role it is still unknown if Vedika the heroine of the original film will reprise her role or some other heroine will be cast. Meanwhile Shakthi Vasu the son of the director who had done the second lead in the original is all set to do the same role in the as yet untitled film. Shakthi who made his debut as a child artiste in ‘Chinna Thambi’ has done quite a few films as hero and the ‘Shivalinga’ remake could give him the much needed break to his career.
