We had reported recently that actor-filmmaker Sundar C is planning a mega budget film on the lines of Baahubali, and the project will be bankrolled by Thenandal Films, reportedly on a budget of nearly INR 250 crore. Latest update is that Suriya might star in the project which will feature a leading Bollywood heroine. Our sources reveal that the Singam star has given his nod; however, he's yet to officially sign the project. He's a little unsure about whether he can take out time for this project as he already has multiple commitments. The project will be high on VFX and well-known visual effects expert R.C Kamalakannan has already been roped in to lend technical support. The rest of the cast and crew will be finalized soon.
Amma Kanakku Songs - Music Review Ramesh S Kannan AmmaKanakku is the Tamil remake of Nil Battey Sannata and directed by Ashwini Iyer Tiwari with Amala Paul and Revathi as a lead. Rohan and Vinayak gave promising soundtrack for the Hindi version. Let's check out how well Ilayaraja scored for this comedy drama movie. Maths Tough Maths tough starts off with cool guitar riffs but the song transcends into weak clumsy rhythms and uncalled random sounds. The rough edges in Srinisha's vocals and uncredited singer's brief rap portions also didn't add any value to the song and lyrics got subdued by the cluttered arrangements. Overall maths tough is an underwhelming output from the maestro. UnakkumEnakkum Ilayaraja makes up for the disappointment by the Maths tough with quite an engaging Unakkum Enakkum. Vandana Srinivasan and Ramya NSK's effortless rendition of the serene, sing-along choir-like tune and Raja's background dominated by keys and soft rock base with live drums blends together and make this song easily accessible. KadavulPadaippil Ilayaraja utilizes the Unakkum Enakkum's tune for Kadavul Padaippil. The song’s lyrics is the ode to the mother whileHaricharan aces the simple tune like a pro and the composer kept the arrangements of the song intact as in original without any changes. Kanavugal and Indha Vazkai Ilayaraja rounds off the soundtrack with short Kanavugal and Indha Vaazhkai. Kanavugal's ultra-short tune fails to create much impact and also background rhythm sounds bland while Vandana'ssoulful rendition being the only highlight of this track. However Ilayaraja easily scores in Indha Vaazhkai and the beauty lies in the charming tune and Shaasha Tripathi's fabulous vocals. The song ends abruptly and one wish Raja could have made full-fledged track out of this lovely tune. Verdict: Amma Kanakku is a passable soundtrack from the maestro and the album has very few standout moments. Rating: 2.5/5 Picks of the Album: Unakkum Enakkum/Kadavul Padaippil, Indha Vaazhkai.
