Baaghi had a very good first week by collecting 59 crore nett in week one. The film fared average in the high end multiplexes but still put up good to excellent number in all circuits. The first week collections are only behind Airlift and Fan for the year both of which had big male lead stars...



Baaghi is that traditional box office hit where everyone in the chain makes good money. The film was made for a production cost of 25 crore then the rights went for 35 crore giving good table profit. The worldwide distributors are in Overflow before the week is out and exhibitors across the country will earn including single screens all over which does not even happen with many hit films.



The film managed solid holds over the weekdays and the main competition will come from Hollywood with Captain America - Civil War but Baaghi should continue strong in mass circuits where Hollywood films struggle to penetrate unless its The Jungle Book.

 

Nadiadwala Grandson's Baaghi has turned out to be a huge success at the Box Office. The film enjoyed one of the best graphs for a 'masala' entertainer ever since one can remember. It opened well, went on to find good escalation over the weekend, and then held on quite well right through the week to emerge as a winner in 7 days flat. It is quite apparent that the film has been picked up the audience in a big way and that reflects in the very good number of 59.72 crore* that it has managed in its Week One. It is now all set to be a Superhit.

Such has been the kind of confidence showed by exhibitors that a good number of shows have been retained in the second week as well, especially at the single screens where it is finding good showcasing despite the arrival of three new Hindi films, one major Hollywood film and a Punjabi biggie too. The film has enjoyed the kind of collections that would make everyone associated with it quite proud. For producer Sajid Nadiadwala, this is continuation of a great run that he has enjoyed for years now. His campaign for 2016 has started on a great note and Housefull 3, Dishoom and Rangoon should only make it better.

As for The Jungle Book, it is busy setting records week after week. Collections in the fourth week are now the best ever for a film across any language that has released in India. With this, the film now stands at 171 crore which is simply terrific. The film is set to challenge the lifetime total of Bang Bang [181 crore] which conveys a lot about the pull this Disney film has enjoyed. All Time Blockbuster.

Baaghi had a decent eight day as it grossed 2.25 crore nett and has taken its business to over 61 crore nett. The drop is around 80% from first day but coming off such a good opening day the collections on day eight are still good. The business of Baaghi till date is as follows.

The film has the third highest distributor share of the year already in just 8 days behinf Airlift and Fan. The weekend should go to around 9 crore nett but depends on the Saturday growth and it might be less than normal second weeeknd growth of successful films as its best areas are mass centres which have less growth on Saturday..

Baaghi saw a drop in business over the second weekend as multiplexes could not grow much on Saturday and Sunday. The film continued its strong run in single screens The second weekend business of Baaghi is as follows



Friday - 2,25,00,000

Saturday - 2,50,00,000

Sunday - 3,00,00,000



Total - 7,75,00,000



Despite the drop the film has still done very well and the total after ten days stands at around 67 crore nett with a distributor share of 34 crore which is far higher than its production budget and almost the price paid for its Worldwide rights.
