Prabhas and Anushka Shetty have indeed become the audiences favourite pair after ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ aka ‘Baahubali 2’. Seeing their chemistry in S.S. Rajamouli’s magnum opus, the movie buffs wanted to see the duo together in the upcoming movie ‘Saaho’ directed by Sujeeth. And their wish even came true. Anushka was roped in for the upcoming flick and it was said she will not be seen like Devasena (her character in ‘Baahubali 2’) but a trendy and modern girl. And that itself was enough for the fans to gaga about the upcoming movie. But now what we’ve heard is Anushka Shetty is out of ‘Saaho’. Yes, according to a report in a leading entertainment portal, the popular south actress lost on the golden opportunity and the reason will leave you shocked.
We all would have been in for a treat if Anushka Shetty would have been part of ‘Saaho’. It is not just her chemistry with Prabhas but also her chic avatar in the film is something what everyone were looking forward to. Apparently, the makers of the film had asked the actress to lose those extra kilos and because Anushka failed at it, she lost on the big opportunity. A source close to the film’s unit revealed to BollywoodLife, “Anushka was training hard for her role in Saaho. However, her weight has become a bone of contention. She is still about five to eight kilo over weight. And this will cost her the film itself.” However, neither Anushka nor the makers have confirmed about it yet.
You won’t believe but even the successful filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli had asked Anushka Shetty to shed the extra weight for ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ that she had gained from her movie ‘Size Zero’. In fact even before offering the role to Anushka the makers had approached Bollywood actresses like Katrina Kaif, Shraddha Kapoor but due to various reasons the ladies of B-town turned down the project.

Were you thrilled that the the hit Baahubali jodi of Prabhas and Anushka Shetty was returning to the silver screen in Saaho? Well, you might be in for some disappointment. Fans of Darling and Sweety were happy when news of their reunion on screen made headlines. Some also felt that the makers of Saaho would benefit from this casting, especially with the stupendous success of SS Rajamouli’s film. BollywoodLife in an EXCLUSIVE report had also revealed that Anushka was undergoing a massive transformation for her role. The makers wanted the audience to forget the actress’ desi avatar of Devasena and be treated to a chic version of Anushka in Saaho. Inside sources reveal that the actress has been prepping for this role and has hence stayed away from the prying eyes of the media. Anushka was even missing from the SIIMA 2017 and some speculated it was because she wanted to keep her new avatar under wraps. But we now hear that Anushka might have lost out on a plum project opposite Prabhas.

Coming back to Saaho, we hear that the makers had approached many Bollywood heroines for the role. It seems while Katrina Kaif rejected the role because she did not know Prabhas (before Baahubali happened), Shraddha Kapoor demanded a whopping sum to feature in a south movie. And it seems ultimately Anushka Shetty was roped in to play the female lead opposite Prabhas. But looks like if Anushka fails to shed a few kilos then Saaho‘s heroine dilemma will continue.
