ISL 2017 SCHEDULE WILL BE RE-JIGGED BECAUSE OF BENGALURU FC’S AFC CUP COMMITMENTS

India’s Bengaluru FC, who won the Federation Cup last season at the expense of Mohun Bagan, will play their preliminary two-legged fixture against Bhutan’s Transport United on January 23rd (away) and 30th (home) respectively.

As a consequence, their midweek away fixture in the Indian Super League (ISL) against Chennaiyin FC which is currently scheduled for 31st January will have to be postponed.

Should Bengaluru FC win their tie against the Bhutanese opponents, they would then take part in the play-off which is scheduled for February 13th (away) and 20th (home). Sandwiched between the two play-offs is their home game against FC Pune City on the 16th.

Also AFC Cup’s Group E fixtures are to kick-start from March 6 onward. If the JSW-owned franchise make it into the ISL play-offs, it will be interesting to see if the fixtures do not clash with the two-legged semi-finals scheduled to take place in the second week of March.

ISL 2017: DIMITAR BERBATOV SET TO RETURN FOR KERALA BLASTERS FOR BENGALURU FC VISIT

Kerala Blasters are not in the best of forms right now in the Indian Super League (ISL), having been drubbed 5-2 by FC Goa last Saturday. In addition to that, the team from the south were dealt another huge blow when Dimitar Berbatov went off injured.
The Bulgarian star player went off injured at the start of the game against FC Goa and coach Rene Meulensteen had revealed that he suffered a calf injury.
However, the former Manchester United man went on to give a boost to the fans of the Sachin Tendulkar co-owned outfit by stating on social media that he is set to return in 20 days, just in time for Kerala Blasters' home game against Bengaluru FC on December 31st.

ISL 2017: ATK SIGN FORMER NEWCASTLE UNITED PLAYER RYAN TAYLOR TO REPLACE INJURED CARL BAKER
Defending Indian Super League (ISL) champions ATK have roped in former Newcastle United player Ryan Taylor as a replacement for an injured Carl Baker who will miss the whole of this season. Baker, who suffered an Achilles Tendon injury during pre-season, has not played a single game for the club in the tournament.

33-year-old Ryan Taylor is a versatile player who has represented the England U-21 side. He has the potential to play as a full-back or across the midfield and has excellent dead-ball skills.

The English player began his career at Tranmere Rovers in 2002 and made 122 league and cup appearances in three full seasons with the club. He was voted as Tranmere's Player of the Year and onto the PFA Team of the Year in 2004–05 season.
