Mammootty’s Rajamanickam has broken all existing box-office collection figures. The latest is that the film has broken the six-year-old record of Mohanlal’s Narasimham in Thiruvananthapuram. Narasimham had collected a distributors share of Rs 39 Lkahs in 155 days run at Srikumar theatre in Thiruvananthapuram in the year 2000. Now, Rajamanickam has already collected a record share of Rs 43 Lakhs in 113 days and still running at New theatre in Thiruvananthapuram. Mammootty fans have a reason to celebrate and they are planning to make it a grand event soon.

Lal Jose’s Classmatesis all set to be the highest grosser in Malayalam film history. On Monday October 9, Classmates became the highest collecting film in Kottayam. At Abhilash complex, the film collected a distributors share of Rs 14.26 Lakhs in 40 days beating the record created by Mammootty’s Rajamanickam Rs 13.92 Lakhs in 101 days. Remember that Rajamanickam had earlier broken the five-year-old record created by Mohanlal’s Narasimham, Rs 12.67 Lakhs in 115 days set in 2000 at the same complex. Now Classmates is expected to take a share of Rs 20 Lakhs from Kottayam. Classmates is running houseful on weekends and 70 to 75 percent on weekdays. Now all eyes are on Ernakulam Kavitha where it has taken a record share of Rs 26.25 Lakhs in 40 days. It looks like it will break the Rajamanickam record of Rs 42 Lakhs share in 140 days at Kavitha.

Dileep's Tenkasipattanam was a record holder in Ernakulam with a distributor's share of Rs 36 lakhs, followed by Meesa Madhavan collecting Rs 35 lakhs.

Now all this has been broken by Chanthupottu which took a share of Rs 38 lakhs in 125 days. This is a new all time record for any movie in Ernakulam.

But the big smile on Dileep's face is going to disappear in 2 to 3 weeks, as Mammootty's Rajamanickam is all set to break this record.

In fact the Mammootty starrer is poised to be the biggest ever hit in the history of Malayalam cinema, and is expected to run for 200 days and likely to get a share of Rs 50 Lakhs from Kavitha in Ernakulam, Mammootty' s lucky theatre
