After completing director Mani Ratnam's 'Kaatru Veliyidai', actor Karthi will start shooting for the film directed by H.Vinoth of 'Sathuranga Vettai' fame.
The film titled as 'Theeran Adhigaram Ondru' has Karthi playing the titular character Theeran. Rakul Preet Singh will play the female lead. The story, screenplay and dialogues have been written by the director H.Vinoth.
In this film, Karthi will be playing a cop after six year gap. The last he was seen as a cop in the 2011 blockbuster 'Siruthai'.
Sathya of 'Maya' fame will be the cinematographer. T.Sivanantheeswaran will handle the Editing. K.Kathir will be the Art Director. Dhileep Subbarayan will choreogprah the stunt sequences.
Ghibran will be the music director of this project. The other artists in the star cast will be announced in due course
The film will be produced by S.R.Prakash Babu and S.R.Prabhu under Dream Warrior Pictures banner. This will be their second film with Karthi after the super hit multiple genre entertainer 'Kaashmora'.
The shooting of 'Theeran Adhigaram Ondru' is expected to kick off from the first week of January 2017

Karthi who is currently busy with Mani Ratnam's Kaatru Veliyidai will be teaming up with director H. Vinoth of Sathuranga Vettai fame for a new film.


This film will have Karthi playing a cop and Rakul Preet Singh is signed to play the female lead. All the while there was no update regarding the film's title, but now the official confirmation from the team has come saying that this action cop drama will be called as 'Dheeran: Adhigaram Ondru'.


'Maya' fame Sathyan Sooryan will handle the cinematography for this film, while Dhilip Subbarayan and Kathir will take care of the stunt and art departments respectively. S.R.Prabhu's Dream Warrior Pictures will be funding this project, for which, the shoot is expected to start from the first week of January 2017.


Going by the title, one might have this question if the team is planning to make this film as a franchise with sequels (Adhigaram Irandu, Adhigaram Moondru, etc) depicting the life of a policeman.

The month is already packed with many big films being scheduled for release (Vivegam, Dhruva Natchathiram, Velaikkaran).
