It is a well known fact that, Vijay’s Mersal has taken a massive opening at the box-office. The film directed by Atlee seems to have the right packaging for all the audiences to enjoy with their families. On this note, it is an all time high number of tickets sold in 5 days for this Vijay movie at Kasi theatre, Chennai.


It is official that 14,000 tickets have been sold out in 5 days. Kasi theatre’s Twitter handle read, “Its housefull #Mersal at Kasi for all the 5 days. New record for a Vijay starrer movie at our theatre. #MersalDiwali @ThenandalFilms”. Their photo post read, “Housefull for 5 days, 14,000 tickets sold out!”.

Bharatiya Janata Party's State President Dr.Tamilisai Soundararajan has yet again made an important allegation against Vijay's Mersal. She has said that the film shows doctors, ambulance drivers in a bad light.


On her official Twitter page, Tamilisai has posted, "Mersal ridicules Dedicated Doctors disheartened /ambulance drivers shown corrupt /doctors should take 5rupees while the actor gets crores???"


To this post of her, Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru director Karthick Naren replied, "Mam, Only the guilty will feel offended. Don’t FEW politicians make more money than the actor? Why not ask them?"
