Worldwide theatrical rights for Kollywood’s most anticipated Sarkar is sold to Thenandal Studios Limited for a whopping ₹99 Crore. It is Expected that Thenandal Studios will hold Tamilnadu theatrical rights and will sell remaining areas for big deals. When all regional level business is done, Theatrical rights for Sarkar might end up in the range of ₹110-₹115 Crore based up on those individual territorial bids. On the other hand Sarkar is doing wonders in non-theatrical business as well. As Sun Network is already the numero uno in the regional broadcast, it will retain the Tamil satellite & Digital rights with them. A revenue of ₹28-30 Crore is expected from Tamil Satellite & digital business for Sun Network going by Vijay’s previous movies. Coming to Hindi Satellite dubbing rights producers already have offers for ₹20-25 Crore from the market leaders and Telugu Satellite rights are expected to bring in another ₹3 Crore for the producers. About Music rights at least ₹3 Crore is expected as AR Rahman is on board. The AR Rahman and Vijay duo which recently created some sensational records on digital platform with their latest audio is an added advantage. Thus the overall Non Theatrical rights are expected around ₹55-60 Crore through satellite, digital and audio for Sarkar. To sum it up Sun Pictures is hitting bulls-eye with Sarkar where they will fetch the fourth best pre-release revenue for a South movie after Baahubali series and Kabali.
