Sarabjit had low collections in its eighth day of a little under 1 crore nett taking its total to around 20 crore nett. The drop is 65-70% from day which would have been okay if the collections were higher. The apprx business of Sarabjit till date is as follows. Week One - 19,00,00,000 Day 8 - 1,00,00,000 Total - 20,00,00,000 Despite having poor collections the film will still come out with a better second weekend than the first weekend of the new releases. Those films are unlikely to find an audience over the weekend while Sarabjit will get some footfalls but not enough to alter its fate.
The new releases Phobia, Veerapan and Waiting all fared very poorly. Veerapan had the best collections but also had by far the widest release. The apprx first day collections of the new releases were as follows. Veerapan - 1.25 crore Phobia - 20 lakhs Waiting - 20 lakhs Over the day it was Waiting which came out with best occupancy so that film should see some growth over the weekend especially on Saturday but from such low figures it will irrelevant. Veerapan which is the biggest release will have a lower first weekend than the second weekend of last weeks holdover Sarabjit. That sums up the fate of the film.
Sarabjit had around 50% growth on Saturdat taking its eight day total to 21.50 crore nett. The two day second weekend of Sarabjit is as follows. Friday - 1,00,00,000 Saturday - 1,50,00,000 TOTAL - 2,50,00,000 Veerapan waa flat on day two. The first two day business pf Veerapan is as follows. Friday - 1,25,00,000 Saturday - 1,25,00,000 TOTAL - 2,50,00,000 Phobia managed to nearly double its day one collections while Waiting more than doubled but it makes no difference as collections still failing to hit 50 lakhs nett.
