STORY: London-based, shipping magnate, Batook Patel has three daughters—Gracy (Jacqueline), Sarah (Nargis) and Jenny (Lisa). He won't let them marry. However, Sandy (Akshay), Bunty (Abhishek) and Teddy (Riteish) fall for these women and their wealth! REVIEW: If you have seen the two earlier installments of this franchise, you already know that is purely a 'leave-your-brains-behind' affair. The premise is an insensitive comedy of errors. But unlike Gulzar's gem Angoor (1982), this one is not about twins. It's so convoluted, it will make Shakespeare turn in his grave. Sample this. Sandy, who wants to play football in the English Premiere League becomes Sundy (Mr Hyde kinda guy) when his coach makes a racist remark and refers to him as Indian! Ooh; the simple Samaritan becomes aggressive, contorts his face and goes ballistic, till you almost reach out to the screen and say stop- we can't take this anymore. Then there's Teddy who suffers from a slip-of-the-tongue disorder. So he calls wife- 'tawaif.' Is this even funny? Well, if the lowbrow comedy shows on Indian television are anything to go by, guess it is. There is also Bunty the rapper, who does these 'ma-bahen' rap that even the goras respond to. Get the drift. Writer-director duo Farhad-Sajid who have the dubious claim of writing the contemporary Golmaal series are on the loose again. What is amateur though is their direction. Housefull3 is an amalgamation of goofball gags and childish jokes. At times, the gags make you choke with anger or with laughter. The boys take turns to play lame, blind and mute. The girls play dumb throughout. The adults, Batook, Urja Nagrik (Jackie) and Pasta (Chunky) scheme and overact. There is no plot in sight. The peppy songs—pyar ki maa ki and taang uthake can get you swinging in your seat. There's also a dictionary that teaches you phrases like-- Bahar latakte hain (let's hang out) Bandook ka beta (Son of a gun) and Thandi dawai le le (take a chill pill), etc. Don't pull your hair out, there's lot's more like this. One star in the rating is for Akshay who has mastered this genre. Riteish and Abhishek keep pace with him, as does Jacqueline. So if you just want to LOL—go for it!
Housefull 3 had a strong Sunday with collections set to cross 20 crore nett. Sunday will be around 20.50 crore nett which would mean a weekend of 52 crore nett. The film recorded strong figures all over on Sunday with only East India being low but that are has under performed from day one. The big circuits like Mumbai, Delhi / UP and East Punjab showed big gains as did Central India. This will be the highest single day ever for an Akshay Kumar starrer and the first time that an Akshay Kumar starrer has ever gone over 20 crore nett. The weekend is also the first time an Akshay Kumar starrer has crossed 50 crore nett. The numbers may not be huge in the context of business today with fils getting benefit of holidays and festive periods and going very high but it has beaten all records for an Akshay Kumar starrer. The business on Sunday gives a better picture on the trend of the film as Saturday was limited growth. The film is for families so Sunday was also going to be the big growth rather than the Saturday which is more for youth driven films..

Housefull 3 has broken the long standing record of Singh Is Kinng in Overseas. This film has been the highest Akshay Kumar opener in Overseas for an unimaginable 8 years and now finally Housefull 3 has broken the record of Singh Is Kinng. The collections of Housefull 3 will cross $3.5 million in Overseas. There may outside chance of hitting $4 million depending on where smaller markets land up. The top Akshay Kumar grossers in Overseas are as follows. 1. Housefull 3 - $3.5 million plus 2. Singh Is Kinng - $3.05 million 3. Housefull 2 - $2.85 million 4. Airlift - $2.79 million 5. Singh Is Bling - $2.44 million The film is best Gulf though it will be a tight battle to beat Airlift in Gulf but that was a Gulf based film. Airlift grossed $1.2 million in Gulf in its opening weekend. US / Canada will flirt with the $1 million mark while United Kingdom will come in at around £250,000. The United Kingdon number is less than Housefull 2 as that market continues on a downward spiral.

Housefull 3 had a good first weekend of 52.75 crore nett making it the first time that an Akshay Kumar starrer has crossed 50 crore nett. The previous best being 47.50 crore nett of Brothers which had the the Independence Day holiday on day two. The film scored at multiplexes but was average in single screens. The weekend business of Housefull 3 is as follows Friday - 15,25,00,000 Saturday - 16,25,00,000 Sunday 21,25,00,000 apprx Total - 52,75,00,000 apprx The film has followed a very similar trend to last years comedy Welcome Back. The difference is that Welcome Back had a lower start but more growth on Saturday though Housefull 3 has more growth on Sunday. The Friday to Sunday growth is similar for both films. Welcome Back from a 14 crore nett day one went to 50.50 crore nett weekend and Housefull 3 has gone from a 15 crore nett weekend to 52.75 crore nett.
Housefull 3 is looking at 98-99 crore worldwide business in its opening weekend. It is highest ever for Akshay Kumar beating the 81 crore of Brothers and 78 crore for Airlift. The top Worldwide grossers for the opening weekend in 2016 are as follows. 1. Fan - 113.31 crore 2. Housefull 2 - 98.50 crore apprx 3. Baaghi - 64.58 crore 4. Kapoor & Sons - 53.74 crore 4. Ki & Ka - 46.60 crore The target for the film will probably be a 200 crore GROSS worldwide. Airlift managed 210 crore apprx but had a tax free status in UP which helped it with a good run there when prior to the exemption the film was faring poorly in UP.
