Speculation was rife for a sequel to Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur, after the filmmaker had hinted about it last September. And, now, fans of the gangster masterpiece can rejoice because TOI has reported that the writer of the original film, Zeishan Qadri, has begun scripting the sequel. In fact, Kashyap has also suggested that Qadri direct Gangs of Wasseypur 1.5after watching his directorial debut,Meeruthiya Gangster, which had released last year. Qadri, who himself hails from Wasseypur, was quoted saying, “I came home when Ramzan began. Festival par ghar aana bhi ho gaya aur film ke liye research bhi. I will be spending a few weeks here and finalizing the plot and characters while I'm here.” In fact, not many know that Qadri had debuted in Wasseypur’s second part in the character of Definite. Though Gangs of Wasseypur was screened at several film festivals, including Cannes, as a single film, it was released in two parts in India owing to its 5-hour plus length. Speaking about where the third parts fits in the series, Qadri said, “It's not a sequel or a prequel. If I have to give it a term, I'd call it a mid-equal. It will have the same timeline and setting as the first two films, which is why we aren't calling it part 3 but part 1.5. It will tell a parallel story between the two films. You might see some characters from the first two films, but it will be a new storyline.” We’re already rubbing our hands in glee at the news of another Wasseypur crime saga.

Varun Dhawan, whose career is going great guns in Bollywood, is all set to team up with Director Abhishek Varman, whose directorial debut, 2 States, had hit the bulls-eye. Along with crossing the 100-crore mark at the box-office, the Alia Bhatt-Arjun Kapoor starrer was positively received by both the audience and critics. Hence, it’s only natural that Varman’s next film – a period drama title Shiddat that’s set in the 1940s and 50s – is being keenly looked forward to. And, as per Super Cinema, Varman has got Varun Dhawan this time to star in his film, which will be coproduced by Dharma Productions and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, who had also collaborated for the Director’s last film. Shiddat will be a dual-hero film, and the hunt is currently on for another big-name actor and two leading ladies. It looks like Varun has another crackerjack film in his kitty.

Most 90s kids would swear by the bromance of Amar Prem aka Aamir Khan - Salman Khan, the confusion between asli Karishma and Raveena, Crime Master Gogo and ofcourse, Teja and his mark. According to reports, Phantom films is planning to take the love of Amar-Prem forward with Andaz Apna Apna sequel and have acquired the rights for the film. However, the sequel will have a fresh star cast and will roll by the end of 2016. Considering the cult status of Andaz Apna Apna, the disastrous fate of sequels and remarkes of classics like Sholay and the fact that Salman and Aamir will not be seen in the sequel; the audience is rather sceptical about the film.
