What are you willing to do for your favourite superstar?"

One wouldn't dare asking this question to Tamil actor Rajinikanth's fans, because there's nothing they can't, don't or won't do to pay tribute to their beloved thalaivar.

When the trailer for Rajinikanth's upcoming film Kabali was released on 30 April, it almost broke the internet. The number of views, shares and the mass hysteria this film has generated has been dubbed 'Kabali mania'.

But after a few hiccups, when it was announced that the film would be released on 22 July, the obsession went to a whole new level with the number of discounts, schemes and idol-worship-fuelled offers in the market.

There are so many of these that there might come a time we'll look back and ask, "Wow, did that really happen?" Here are some offers that prove Kabali mania is, currently, at its peak.

    1. Puducherry is offering the only incentive one would need to construct a toilet

The Puducherry government has offered residents of Sellipet panchayat free tickets for the film Kabali if they construct toilets in their homes. The state government took this step after they found that almost 58 per cent of the residents in Sellipet village were defecating in open spaces. BJP leader and former IPS officer Kiran Bedi who was recently appointed as the Lt Governor, tweeted that the government's innovative idea was working.

    2. AirAsia has introduced 'Rajini class' (sure beats business class)

Low-cost carrier AirAsia signed an agreement to become the airline partner for Kabali and announced a special flight to Chennai for the film. The fan who wanted to watch the film first day, first show in Chennai would have topay ₹7,860 for the package which would be inclusive of the flight ticket, a movie ticket, an audio CD, Kabali merchandise, breakfast, lunch and snacks.

    3. Airtel is totally taking advantage of the fan-frenzy

Airtel has launched a slew of products and services ranging from data packs, recharges and caller tunes — all themed around Kabali. The telecom giant Airtel has also rolled out a 'Kabali Van' that will go around Tamil Nadu showcasing the film teaser.

    4. Rajinikanth's face has basically became money

Kerala-based Muthoot Finance company launched a series of limited-edition silver coins with Rajinikanth's face etched on them. They are available in denomination of five grams, 10 grams, 10 gram pendant and a 20 gram coin, and are priced between ₹300 to ₹1,400.

    5. Workplaces have figured out a way to make their in-house Rajinikanth fans happy

Chennai-based start-ups have started booking movie halls so that their staff can catch the first show of the film, on the first day. In fact, several firms boast of the fact that they had done the same for Rajinikanth's last few films as well.

    6. Some luxury hotels in Bengaluru are doubling up as movie theatres for the weekend

As per a report by The Times Of India, four five-star hotels in Bengaluru will be screeningKabali four times a day over its opening weekend. While they haven't quite worked out all the permissions yet, each ticket will be priced at ₹1,300 and available on BookMyShow, says the report.
