Titled Mohini, this film will be shot extensively in Thailand and other parts of Asia. Reports suggest that the team who has worked on the special effects of Hollywood film Harry Potter has been roped in to do the honours for this film as well. For the first time in her career, Trisha will be seen wearing prosthetic make up in this film which is directed by Madhesh. This film will go on floors in the first week of June and will release simultaneously in Telugu as well.

This clearly seems to be the season for horror comedies in Telugu and Tamil film industries. A number of low budget horror comedies, some including star hero and heroines, are raking in the moolah at the box-office. One such film which struck gold during its release was Anjali’s Geethanjali. The film, directed by debutant Raj Kiran, was a sleeper hit in 2014. Now, Geethanjali is slated to be remade in Tamil. According to a latest update, young music composer turned hero GV Prakash Kumar will be essaying the lead role. Kathiresan, the producer of Siddharth’s Jigarthanda and Dhanush’s Polladavan, will produce this remake. It is still not known whether Anjali will reprise herself in the Tamil remake or not.
Shruti Haasan, one of the leading actresses down south, has her kitty full with several crazy projects on floors both in Telugu and Tamil. According to a latest update, the sultry beauty is all set to join hands with Rajesh M Selva, the director of her father Kamal Haasan’s recently released noir thriller, Cheekati Rajyam. However, the Shruti-Rajesh project will not be a feature film but a TV commercial. The duo will come up with an ad film for the popular bathing soaps brand, Medimix. Incidentally, young music composer Ghibran, who scored for Cheekati Rajyam, will compose the jingle for this ad film.
National award winning actress Priyamani has gotten engaged to her longtime boyfriend Mustafa Raj in the actress’ hometown Bengaluru on Friday amidst close friends and family members. The couple would the knot later this year. Priyamani first met Mustafa during an IPL match a few years ago. Mustafa heads an event management company t which participates in the IPL. In one of her interviews, Priyamani said that it was Mustafa’s sense of humor, caring nature and honesty that got her attracted towards him. Priyamani is currently acting in a couple of films in Malayalam and Kannada.
If the ongoing buzz ends up becoming true, young Tamil beauty Sai Pallavi, who stole the hearts of movie lovers with her endearing act in the blockbuster Malayalam film Premam, is in consideration for the female lead’s role opposite Varun Tej in Sekhar Kammula’s direction. Apart from her mesmerizing persona and decent acting prowess, Sai Pallavi is also known for her dancing skills. The Varun Tej-Sekhar Kammula project is touted to be a new age love story in typical Sekhar Kammula’s style. Dil Raju will be producing this film, which will be launched in the second half of this year.
Actor Sharwanand is currently being flooded with too many offers. He is currently supposed to do a project with Dil Raju as well as BVSN Prasad. But he also has offers from a new production house as well as an established business house that has made some films in the past. The actor has successfully established himself in the 10 – 12 Crore market as a bankable hero and this is what is bringing loads of offers to him. Currently, Tollywood is considering this budget range as a safe bet and Sharwanand is currently one of the leaders of this market. Actor Akkineni Nagarjuna is currently in New York and he is visiting some of the more iconic temples in the area. He has shared a photo of a Ganesh temple from NY and Nagarjuna seems to be thrilled with this devotional place. Nag praised the temple and its priests for the cleanliness and positive atmosphere of the shrine. Nagarjuna is currently moulding himself for a devotional film that will be directed by K. Raghavendra Rao. Pre-production work of this movie is in full swing. Nagarjuna and K. Raghavendra Rao have teamed up successfully for Annamayya and Sri Rama Dasu.
Nandamuri Kalyan Ram’s untitled film in the direction of Puri Jagan has already started rolling. The movie is being produced by Kalyan Ram himself and shooting started on the 26th of this month. Several important scenes were canned on Posani, Tanikella Bharani and other character actors. Kalyan Ram will be stepping onto the sets from the 30th. The movie will have a long schedule in Spain after this and the production unit is aiming for a Dussehra release. Kalyan Ram is producing the movie on NTR Arts banner and Aditi Arya will be seen as the heroine. Anoop Rubens is composing the music for this mass action entertainer.
Supreme hero Sai Dharam Tej’s ‘Supreme’ is doing very good business in the Nizam region even in its fifth week. The movie’s revenue has received a boost after the failure of high profile releases in May and it has amassed a gross of 50 lakhs in just 24 days in Sandhya Theater alone. This is an impressive performance for a young and upcoming hero. The movie has been directed by Anil Ravipudi and Rashi Khanna played the female lead. Supreme has been produced by Dil Raju’s SVC banner and Sai Karthik has composed the music. With its mass entertainment and short runtime, Supreme is set for another good week until “A..Aa” arrives on June 2nd.
