Legendary music composer ‘Maestro’ Ilayaraja had to face a bitter experience at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru on Sunday. According to the reports, Ilayaraja and his family, who were returning to Chennai after their trip to several temples in Manguluru, were denied entry by the CISF security officials over a ‘Prasad’. At the time of security check, the security officials spotted a few broken coconut pieces in Ilayaraja’s baggage and this led to a minor scuffle as the security personnel, who couldn’t recognize Ilayaraja, refused to let the renowned composer board the flight. Deeply upset with the unexpected experience, Ilayaraja got into an argument with them. Thankfully, a press reporter entered the scene and explained to the securitymen who Ilayaraja was and quickly realizing their mistake, the security officials allowed Ilayaraja and his family board the flight, which was already delayed by an hour.
Despite having good looks and decent acting skills, young hero Sumanth Ashwin is still awaiting that one solid hit which will take him into the league of bankable stars. However, the soft-spoken actor is in no hurry to gain the mass hero image which will let people to call him a bankable star. During a promotional interview for his soon to be released romantic thriller, Right Right, Sumanth Ashwin said that he prefers doing soft, romantic hero roles at this point of his career as his age best suits such characters. “It won’t look convincing if I bash up goons and mouth punch dialogues,” explains Sumanth. However, Sumanth is game for mass hero roles at a later point of his career and revealed that even stars like Aamir Khan and Suriya followed the same route in the early days of their careers.
Actor Nani is keenly awaiting the release his romantic thriller Gentleman to carry forward his success streak. The film is slated for its release on June 17 and the makers have stepped up the promotional blitzkrieg. We have recently reported that Nani will shoot for Trinadh Rao Nakkina’s film after Gentleman’s release. This as yet-untitled film will be produced by leading filmmaker Dil Raju and if the ongoing reports are anything to go by, musical hit machine Devi Sri Prasad has be approached to compose the music for the film. Apparently, the film’s director and Dil Raju met DSP recently and narrated the script. Highly impressed with the story, DSP reportedly gave his nod. If the news ends up becoming true eventually, this will be the first time that a Nani film will feature DSP’s music.
It is a known fact that Nagarjuna will be doing a devotional film in the direction of K Raghavendra Rao. Latest update reveals that a massive set in being erected in Annapurna Studios and the shooting will kick start soon. The heavy duty set is being laid to recreate various locations of ancient Tirumala as many important scenes will be shot here during the course of time. Akkineni Nagarjuna will be seen in a new look in this film which has music by M M Keeravani. Currently, Nagarjuna is busy experimenting with his look and sources suggest that he will be seen with a stubble in the film.

Young hero Allu Sirish who is picking different subjects has teamed up with Lavanya Tripathi for a pure family entertainer film Shrirasthu Shubhamasthu being helmed by Parasuram (Bujji), known for showcasing family emotions precisely. Ace producer and Sirish’s father Allu Aravind is producing the movie under the prestigious Geetha Arts Banner. Shrirasthu Shubhamasthu’s last shooting scheduled will be canned in exotic locations of Kashmir and with this entire production work will be wrapped up. Very soon, the film’s audio composed by SS Thaman will be launched through a grand ceremony. The makers have plans to release the movie sometime soon. Director Parasuram said, “I have become very close to Sirish with the journey for Shrirasthu Shubhamasthu. Like me, Sirish also has great respect and liking for joint families. Marriage is key part in everyone’s life. One would know how bride and groom should behave responsible after marriage, only if we have family with us. But, current generation youngsters have forgotten about family emotions and responsibilities. Our film will have right ingredients for all age groups. Each character- whether it is big or small, will have its own significance.” Sirish said, “I am interested in doing good films from the beginning. In fact, I feel proud myself when someone appreciates me for picking meaningful movies. Bujji is making the family subject, comprising of all commercial elements. Every character in the film is inter-linked to other character. My sequences with Rao Ramesh will be highlight in the film. In fact, our confidence levels will increase, if work with senior actors. Producer Allu Aravind also hopes his latest production venture Srirasthu Shubhamasthu will become another good hit for his banner.

The shooting of this film has been progressing at a brisk pace. Chetana, a trained classical dancer, acted as a child artiste in Teja’s directorial debut Chitram and Puri Jagannadh’s debut film Badri.
