Rumours were abuzz that Akhil Akkineni is teaming up with one among director Krish and Puri Jagannadh for his second movie. It is also being said that Akhil is keeping a close tab on the result of Loafer, the next release of Puri to approach the director for a film. Putting rest to speculations, the actor took to his micro-blogging page to deny the news. He tweets,"Clearing the air, I have not signed any project at the moment. Working on it, during this time I have learned that patience is important!" Going by his words, it is clearly evident that Akhil is not in a hurry to sign a project and is waiting for the right script. Akhil's debut film Akhil has ended up as a dud and the actor faced criticism for choosing an outlandish script for his maiden film. Hope, he gets a perfect script this time and bounces back with vengeance in his next outing.
Comedy king Brahmanandam, who is ruling the roost in Telugu cinema for decades, is no longer our film makers favourite. The actor is constantly failing to live up to his reputation and also became monotonous with his bland performances. Following the debacles of Sher and Bruce Lee, Tollywood filmmakers are shying away to rope in the king of comedy in their respective films. The latest update is that Brahmanandam has been replaced with actor Purdhvi for an important role in Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja's new movie directed by new comer Chakri. Initially, the makers have approached Brahmanandam and offered him a crucial role in this film but eventually dropped the idea and brought Prudhvi on board for the same role. Prudhvi's performance in Ravi Teja's latest release Bengal Tiger has received thumping response from the audience. His Baahubali act from the teaser of Gopichand starrer Soukhyam has gone viral among the audiences. Looks like Prudhvi has become the most sought after comedian of Tollywood, outshining Brahmanandam!

Superstar Mahesh Babu was supposed to work with director Puri Jagannadh for a new movie. The discussions are going on for long but nothing has been materialized. However, it is learnt that the project would go onto the sets soon after Mahesh wraps up Brahmotsavam and an untitled project with AR Murugadoss. The film will be made on a whopping budget and will also feature a Hollywood actor as the other lead. Confirming the news Puri said, “I will definitely direct a film with Mahesh. Currently, he is busy with other projects and it will take some time for us to take the film onto the floors. An international star will share the screen space with Mahesh in this big-budget extravaganza. I am working on the script.” Puri also stated that the film is not titled Tapori. Puri and Mahesh have earlier delivered path breaking hits like Pokiri and Businessman and if the project falls in place, then it would be their third outing together.
