We have already reported that actor Ram has joined hands with his Kandireega director Santhosh Srinivas for yet another out and out entertainer. The film has recently wrapped up its first schedule. Latest reports reveal that the second schedule of the film will be kickstarted in Vizag on June 14th and will wrap up the the 30th. The film is being produced by Ram Achanta, Gopichand Achanta and Anil Sunkara under their 14 Reels Entertainment banner.
Senior producer Sivalenka Krishnaprasad is making his comeback with Nani’s upcoming film, Gentleman. Even though he had produced a couple of classics like Balayya’s Aditya 369 and Chinnodu-Peddodu, the producer went into hibernation for almost two decades. With Gentleman, Krishnaprasad hopes to make a solid comeback to film production and make his Sridevi Movies banner as one of the most reputed production houses in Tollywood. The producer observes that today’s audiences have changed drastically and that they demand quality movies. He further assured that his banner will live up to the standards set in the film industry. Also starring Surbhi and Nivetha Thomas, Gentleman has been directed by Indraganti Mohanakrishna. The film is slated to release on June 17th.
Veteran director and politician Dasari Narayana Rao came down heavily on the selection process before adjudging the Padma awards. Speaking at the felicitation ceremony of senior artistes Kaikala Satyanarayana and Jamuna organized by Movie Artiste’s Association (MAA), the veteran filmmaker said that it’s a pity that stalwart actors like SVR, Savithri, Anjali Devi, Kaikala Satyanarayana and Jamuna never got a Padma award. Dasari further said that governments these days are giving away the Padma awards to those who lobby heavily and without considering the merit of deserving artistes. Dasari went on to say that Padma awards have lost their credibility as they are being given to undeserving candidates.

Yesterday, the makers of this as yet-untitled film, 14 Reels, stated that they are aiming at a Dasara release for this out and out mass action entertainer. So far, Ram’s film is the only project which is slated for a Dasara release and a few more biggies are expected to join the race in the near future. Ram’s Shivam co-star Raashi Khanna will be seen as the leading lady in this film, which also has veteran Tamil star Satyaraj in an important role. Ghibran is the music composer.

Nandamuri Kalyan Ram’s latest film is being directed by Puri Jagan and shooting is going on at Nanakramguda. The movie unit will be travelling to Spain towards the end of this month and this schedule will commence from the 1st of July. According to the latest reports, former Prime Minister of India HD Deve Gowda’s grandson and former Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy’s son Nikhil Kumar will soon make his entry into Tollywood. Nikhil has just wrapped up his Kannada debut film, Jaguar, which has been made with an astonishing budget. Latest reports suggest that a Hyderabad-based leading production house which has made several notable biggies down south will be introducing Nikhil in Telugu.
