Airlift grossed 2.25 crore nett apprx in its fourth week takings it total close to 125 crore nett. The film is now comfortably past the 123.5 crore nett of Airlift which was the second biggest NETT grosser of 2016 prior to Rustom. The share of the film is 2 crore more than Airlift. The fourth week business of the film is the fourth highest of 2016 after Neerja (tax free many states), Sultan, Airlift (tax free UP) but as can be seen a few of the other films were given a helping hand with tax exemptions. The business of Rustom till date is as follows.

Week Two - 25,51,00,000

Week Four - 2,25,00,000 apprx



TOTAL - 1,24,77,00,000 apprx



The film remains in theatres in the fifth week with a show here and there and should pick up another 50 lakhs nett plus in its run. .

 

Rustom has edged past the figures of Airlift to become the second highest nett grosser of the year but it has beaten Airlift easier than it looks. Airlift had tax exemption in the second week in UP and if we look at GROSS numbers the gap is a comfortable lead for Rustom. Airlift had a GROSS of 166 crore while the Rustom GROSS is 173 crore till now.



The territory business is split in that Delhi / UP (due to tax exemption), Mysore and TNK are less for Rustom but most other circuits are similar or a comfortable lead for Rustom which includes Mumbai where Rustom has done much better. Rustom will finish with business of 124.50 crore nett making it the 22nd highest nett grosser of all time. it beats films like Agneepath, Ready and Airlift. The film is the second biggest hit of 2016 with a distributor share of 61 crore apprx. This is only the second time an Akshay Kumar film has gone over 60 crore in terms of domestic share. The other being the blockbuster Rowdy Rathore in 2012 which clocked a distributor share of 73 crore. In terms of footfalls its the eighth highest for Akshay Kumar with two films crossing 2 crore footfalls, Mohra and Rowdy Rathore. The business of Rustom till date is as follows.

Rustom released last week became the silver jubilee hit of Akshay Kumar's career. It was his 25th HIT film and this feat has been achieved by very few actors in the film industry. Only Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan have achieved this feat out of the present working lead actors and in the rest of history, its probably just 3 or 4 other actors which have managed 25 HIT films in their careers. Only genuine stars manage to give this many HITS as its very difficult to reach this mark which is why so few have managed it.

There are 17 films of over 100 crore nett in the list above and there is one Ek Rishtaa - The Bond Of Love (2001) but there the budget was high and the film did not do enough business to become a hit. The first two films (Mohra and Rowdy Rathore) on the list are blockbusters and there is a considerable gap between them and the rest.
