Baahubali 2 has almost concluded its run in India as well as in overseas initial phase territories. Film sold 10.5cr plus tickets in India which hasn’t happened in this century for any film in a single country with a bleak chance for
The Mermaid in China doing that. Even then there are not more than 50 films in history of world cinema that managed to do so.
Released April 28, 2017, the film opened by breaking records for opening day and weekend, later becoming the Biggest Grosser ever in India in mere 5 days. It went on to become 1st film to gross ₹600cr, ₹700cr and so on till ₹1300cr in India. It was similar phenomenon internationally where it become first ever Indian film to top North American box office which followed first ever $20mn weekend overseas for an Indian film.
Pages can be written describing the mammoth success of Baahubali The Conclusion but that will be not enough. What film means to Indian box office is altogether a different story as film broke various myths out in the industry. Thanks to the film, Box Office sees a record ₹5000cr plus gross sales in first half of 2017 in India with Baahubali 2 accounting for a fourth of that.
Cutting to the main thing, after 70 days and still running, film grossed ₹1340.74 in India and ₹294.7cr ($45.7mn) internationally, giving it a worldwide gross of ₹1635.44cr. That number in India places it about ₹830cr ahead of next highest grosser Dangal. Film earned ₹635cr approx distributor share in India and ₹165cr internationally which is more than worldwide gross of any other Indian film except Dangal.
