Tamil star Suriya, who is waiting the release of his upcoming sci-fi thriller 24, has vowed to act without taking a penny in a film to be produced by Nadigar Sangam (South Indian Film Artistes’ Association) to raise funds for Nadigar Sangam’s building. Suriya said that Nadigar Sangam has decided to help several poor artistes by offering them monthly pensions and even decided to earn Rs. 50 lakhs every month to support various welfare schemes. In order to raise funds for the building, the Nadigar Sangam organised a star cricket tourney recently and Suriya led the Chennai team. Apart from this, the association’s think-tank, Vishal, Karthi and Nasser, decided to produce a film to collect more funds.
Actor Suriya as we everyone knows has been conducting many social service and philanthropic activities through his Agaram Foundation. During the flood that ravaged Chennai in December Suriya's Agaram not only actively participated in rescue and relief but also conducted a discussion on water management to mitigate the effects of such calamities in future. That has lead the actor's attention towards the Environmental activism. Now Suriya's Agaram will be publishing a month magazine named as 'Yadhum' to create awareness about the environmental issues and the need to safeguard the eco-system of the earth. The magazine 'Yaadhum' will be launched in a function to be held in Suriya's alma mater Loyola College at 6 pm tomorrow. High Court Justice (Retd.) K.Chandru will release the first edition and render the key note address. We wish the best for the success of 'Yaadhum' in achieving its intended purpose.

Nitya Menen, one of the most admired and highly talented actresses down south, is awaiting the arrival of her latest film, 24, in which she plays a cameo as a mother of a 4-year-old and wife of Suriya. This is the first time that Nitya has teamed up with Suriya. In her latest interview, Nitya revealed that Suriya is her most favorite co-star till date. Terming Suriya a wonderful person, Nitya says that there is absolutely nothing negative about Suriya. The actress further said that while some co-stars make it difficult for her to act with, Suriya has always been gentleman-like and courteous, and made it 100 percent easy for her on the sets. Directed by Vikram Kumar, 24 is all set for a grand release on the 6th of May.
