Theri goes the Thuppakki way ..

Ilayathalapathy Vijay is known to possess a big audience base in the UK and other key European markets. His upcoming summer special Theri is expected to do massive business all over. Ayngaran International would be distributing the film in UK and other European countries and a wide release is anticipated. To add more to the pre-release business news of Theri, the distribution rights of the TK (Tirunelveli Kanyakumari) areas in Tamil Nadu have been procured by Monica Films, who also recently bought the Coimbatore release rights of the film.

The satellite rights of the film are supposedly with Vijay TV, who will be telecasting the recently held audio launch coming Sunday, April 3rd. Vijay TV already has some of Vijay's biggest hits like Thuppakki and Nanban in their kitty.

Ilayathalapathy’ Vijay’s upcoming film ‘Theri’ is expected to have a grandest ever release for a Vijay film across the globe. The Atlee directed family entertainer has been going with a lot of expectations and fans of the star are waiting with bated breath for the film to hit the screens next month.

The film is expected to get the censor certificate by the end of this week while post production work are going on. Simultaneously the distribution rights of the film at various places are being sold.

Now we have sources saying that the rights to distribute the film in theatres across New Zealand and Australia have been sold for a record price for a Vijay film by Perth Tamil Movies. It is said that the film has been lapped up by a distributor for 65 Lakhs which is the highest ever for a Vijay film. Trade circles expect that Theri will break all the existing records.

Produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu, Theri starring Vijay, Samantha and Amy in lead roles has music by GV Prakash and slated to release across theatres on 14th April 2016.
