Theri trailer to release tomorrow on the 20th of March
It's now official that the trailer of the Vijay starrer Theri would be launched tomorrow evening, the March 20th. The trailer is said to be around 2 minutes long.

Vijay is joined by Samantha and Amy Jackson in this Atlee directorial funded by Thanu’s V Creations. The film is set for an April 14th release and is pacing towards the finish line with the post production work almost over, as reported earlier. The music by GV Prakash would also be launched tomorrow.

Behindwoods got an exclusive listening session of one of the most expected musicalbums of the year, the Vijay starrer Theri which is scheduled to release tomorrow 20/3/2016. Here we give you an insight into what to expect from the soundtrack.


GV Prakash is still young, in his late 20’s. He is someone who is regarded among thetop musicians in Tamil industry for the past 10 years. Within such a short time, delivering 50 albums is something incredible. And with Theri being his 50th musical and Vijay playing the protagonist, the expectations for this album are unimaginably high. The tracklist that was released a couple of days back has given an adrenaline rush to all Vijay and GV fans who’ve been yearning to listen to this album.


The album comprises of 7 numbers in total. And with names like Bombay Jayashree, T Rajendar, Deva, Vaikom Vijayalakshmi, GV Prakash Kumar, Uttara Unni Krishnan and Ilayathalapathy Vijay himself featuring in the singers list, one can expect an accomplished soundtrack with varied styles of compositions.

The tracklist has given the basic idea about the genre and how the songs are going to be. But how good are they going to be? With more expectations come more responsibilities. Has GV managed to appease that unmatchable expectation vested upon him? From Behindwoods’ perspective, it is a definite YES!

No two soundtracks from the album fall under the same genre and that’s how versatile Theri is. The album starts with a power packed opening songJithu Jilladirendered by the ‘Father of Gaana’ genre, Deva with the lyrics of Danga Maari and Aaluma Doluma fame Rokesh. The song takes you back to the 90s, the era of Gaana, yet it stays original to GV’s name. It is a fun number which will make the fans go berserk. The track also carries a message like most Vijay intro songs do.

You can expect a soulful, feel good and serene track whenever GV Prakash makes his wife Saindhavi sings for his composition. Even Theri carries one similarnumberEn Jeevan, this time it is even more special as the male voice for the song is rendered by the legendary singer Hariharan. Vaikom Vijayalakshmi makes a cameo rendition here and that tiny Sanskritportion that she sings is heavenly.

Eena Meena Teekais a song between a father and his daughter. It starts off like a television commercial and it stays so unique from the word go. Uttara Unnikrishnan’s adorable voice stands out in this cute number.


Next in the list comesChella Kutti. Yes the number that most Ilayathalapathy fans would be waiting for. Any song that Vijay sings turns out to be an instant hit, Chella Kutti would be no different. It is another fun song with an irresistibly addictive tune


If you’re a classical music lover,Thaimaiwould be your go to song. With legendary singer Bombay Jayashree’s blissful voice and Tamil scholar Pulamaipithan’s moving lyrics, Thaimai is just celestial.

Now coming to the ultimate Kuthu song from the album,Rangu. Though it is fast paced track it carries a life. And who betterto sing a kuthu number than T Rajendar?. Rangu is a sure shot winner.
