Shahid Kapoor completely nailed by leaving everyone awestruck with his impeccable Rockstar avatar in Udta Punjab's trailer. Shahid's never seen before avatar not only left his audience pleasantly surprised but has also got top singers and wrappers in Punjab talking.

We were told that top Punjabi singers and rappers have personally reached out to Shahid appreciating the perfect attitude and swag that the actor carries as Tommy Singh in the film. While Shahid is overwhelmed with the positive response his portrayal of Tommy Singh has brought for him, it is the special Kudos from Punjab's top music community members that has got him content as an actor.

The actor was also inundated with calls, mails and messages from fans and industry folks for giving them a yet another version of Shahid Kapoor as an actor.

Confirming this a spokesperson added, "Shahid has been surprising all as an actor. As Tommy Singh, he has showcased superior depiction of an aggressive Rock star. He has gone a step further and added his own touch to the character by refraining to mimic any existing Rock stars. He is receiving a lot of love and appreciation from Punjabi Rock star's and audience alike for his portrayal of Tommy Singh."

Alia Bhatt, who portrays a character of a Hockey Player in her upcoming film, 'Udta Punjab', recently shot for a song with real-life hockey players from several colleges across Mumbai.

The 23 year old actress, who had a great time shooting for the sequence shared, "The girls were cool, tough and inspiring. There was so much that I learnt from them about the sport. It was a fun shoot as we clicked a few selfies."

The Highway actress has always been into sports since her school days. However, she was more into sports like Football and Handball. Alia further added, "Since I began practicing I have realised that hockey is a difficult sport and requires a lot of skill."

Alia took special efforts to learn the sport... She spent over a month and a half in learning the sport and getting the postures right. Alia revealed, "I was given a coach and we trained at a place in Bandra. I would reach at around 6 am."

In fact, Alia even took a few tips from Shah Rukh Khan, who stars opposite her in Gauri Shinde's next. Alia didn't only train in hockey for the film, as a part of her prep for Udta Punjab, Alia also spent a lot of time researching the subject of drug abuse in the state of Punjab. She added, "I saw many documentaries and videos to under stand the behavioural patterns of those under the influence. It was disturbing."

'Udta Punjab' is a film based on the lives of 4 individuals played by Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh who are impacted by the drug abuse faced in the connecting state of Punjab. Produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and Phantom Productions, 'Udta Punjab' is directed by Abhishek Chaubey and is set to release on June 17th 2016.

Alia Bhatt’s look and her cursing has created a buzz in B-Town, a lot has been said regarding her character in the upcoming movie ‘Udta Punjab’.

Recently, Neetu Chandra, after seeing the film’s trailer, had written an open letter to director Abhishek Chaubey and Alia about stereotyping Biharis.

To which Alia replied, “Do you not abuse in real life too? So do I. The abuses are in a Bihari tone as the character is Bihari. We have to portray the character according to the script. It is better for us to remain silent because when people make assumptions based on what they see in the trailer, it could perhaps not be true.”

Alia, who plays a Bihari migrant in the film, said, “I was very happy when I walked on the sets with the look; usually the assistants’ clear the way for the stars as soon as they go on the sets, but these guys could not recognize me and I entered saying ‘hutto hutto (move, move)’. They all assumed I was an onlooker who had come to see the shoot.”
