Cute and talented actress Alia Bhatt will soon be seen in two of her upcoming movies this year, one is 'Udta Punjab' and the other in Gauri Shinde's film. Recently, Ali Bhatt shared a group selfie with her team in Singapore after wrapping up the film. She also posted a picture on her Instagram handle, showing her chilling out with some friends.

It was just few weeks back that, she had jetted off to Singapore to shoot for a song sequence for Gauri Shinde's upcoming film and now we get to know that the shoot has wrapped up.. WOW!!!

Alia's another upcoming movie, 'Udta Punjab' will be hitting theatres on 17 June this year. The story revolves around drug abuse in the state of Punjab and how the youth have succumbed to drug abuse en-masse resulting in a socio-economic decline. The film features, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Shahid Kapoor and Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh. This movie is directed by Abhishek Chaubey and is slated to hit the theatres on 17 June 2016.

 

Shahid Kapoor's 'Udta Punjab' gets into trouble with Censor Board



The upcoming film 'Udta Punjab' has reportedly got into trouble with the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) on Thursday. The film is based on how substance abuse in the state of Punjab has affected its youth.



According to TOI.com, the CBFC has held back its certification over abusive dialogues. The film shows how drugs enters into the heart of the country and destroys the future. Shahid plays a young and happening rockstar in the film, who finds himself embroiled in substance abuse.



The report states that Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) had previously objected to the film, over misrepresentation of Punjabis. The film is set to release on June 17, 2016.



A senior CBFC official was quoted in the report saying, “We have just held back the certification. The film producers have the option to move Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT). It is only about certain exple tives and nothing more”.

 

As soon as the posters and trailer of Udta Punjab was out, it was pretty obvious that the movie would have a lot of swear words as it involves drug abuse and other provocative stuffs. The trailer showcased the dark side of things which no other Bollywood film could dare to show.

The Censor Board, has ended up grounding Udta Punjab on the basis of excessive swear words and it's quite amusing that the board have not understood the concept of the movie in the first place. A movie like Udta Punjab, needs to have provocative things as the main intention is to shock people by how drugs can ruin one's life.



Twitteratis, are questioning the Censor Board's decision for letting a few films pass through censor, when a few cuts were really required in the scenes, and grounding a film which has cuss words which rightfully revolves around its storyline. People are finding it quite amusing that the board is completely missing the poing on the films story.


The hashtag #SHAME ON CENSOR BOARD is going viral and a lot of people on Twitter are joinging the bandwagon as you're reading this. People vented their anger against the Censor Board by tweeting,

"You can release over rated movies but You can't release a movie which has a good lesson in it. SHAME ON CENSOR BOARD". Another girl tweeted her disappointment as,

"Movies which have a strong message for the youth are a problem,but movies about cheap comedy aren't a problem at all SHAME ON CENSOR BOARD."

1. ChittaVe

ChittaVe has strong hangover of AmitTrivedi's past works (I can particularly pinpoint Queen, Luv Shuv... and Shaandaarin this). But it seamlessly fits into this album's soundscape. BabuHaabi's grungy rap (who sounds like SurajJagan) and other trippy sounds grew to my liking after multiple listening.


2. Da DaDasse

This one takes the rap and EDM sound of the album forward. Given the Punjabi terrain of the film and the soundtrack, KanikaKapoor comes in as a right fit here.


3. IkkKudi

Shiv Kumar Batalvi'snazmis re-imagined into an acoustic led contemporary composition, keeping the soul intact -- thanks to ShahidMallya's heartfelt rendition. Though Rabbi Shergill has set a high standard for this one, Trivedi adapts it into a more hummable tune.


4. Ud-daa Punjab

This one's an out-and-out winner, musically as well as lyrically. The energy is infectious. Trivedi and Dadlanikeeps bouncing the ball to each other. While former grooves on a tuneful, latter raps and how!


5. Hass Nach Le

ShahidMallya gets another one in this album -- asufi -- and he is equally brilliant here too. At times it feels too neat for its own good... loss of some rustic charm; but it is infused with enough soul.


6. Vadiya

Vadiya tries to resonate with the psyche of a drug consumed, lyrically too. Trivedi sets his vocals on a lounge-ish tune, then takes the electronica to ear-bleeding levels. Wish Trivedi had done some more experimentation here and not restricted to the average length of four minutes.


7. IkkKudi - Reprised Version

The guitar sounds more bluesy here but it eventually grows into a full rock. Daljit sucks the soul out of it. The track exists purely as a marketing vehicle just because they have roped in an actor who's also a singer.


Trivedi has been dangerously treading the line between 'having one's stamp over the album' and 'repeating oneself' for quite some time now. His last Hindi film album this year -- Fitoor -- had one electronic track (Ranga Re) which I never warmed up to. Udta Punjab is largely electronic, yet it sounds different and unique to the album. So you know which side of the line Trivedi has fallen this time.

While fans would have excitedly lapped up Shahid Kapoor's funky, rockstar avatar in 'Udta Punjab', there is someone who was simply stunned with the actor's reel look. Here's and interesting trivia that the audiences and Shahid's fans don't know.

When Shahid had met wife Mira's father for the first time, the actor was in his look of 'Udta Punjab'! It was Mira's father who had first witnessed Shahid in this distinct look of his character. When Mira's father saw Shahid in this attire he was pleasantly surprised. The actor had donned a close to rockstar loose t shirt, shorts, with long hair and boots. The instant reaction of the father in law was surprising!

However Mira's father later on conveyed that he likes the look and also learnt that it was there for a reason. He later realized that Shahid was absorbing the character of his forthcoming film and this was the process where the actor was prepping for it.

Spokesperson confirmed the news and added, Shahid first met Mira's father at the Delhi farmhouse when he was in the attire of his look for his forthcoming film. It was great to see Mira's father reaction on it".

 

Bollywood actress Radhika Apte has a connection with Abhishek Chaubey’s upcoming film ‘Udta Punjab’. The actress’ husband Benedict Taylor has composed the background music of the film.

The music of the film has been receiving rave response from the audiences. Taylor, who has given the background score for the film has been away from media interactions and promotions of any kind so far.

‘Udta Punjab’ releases on June 17 and stars Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh.
