Once upon a time, Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan, were one of the most talked about couples of the Bollywood. The duo will be seen in their upcoming movie, ‘Udta Punjab’, and had recently created buzz at its trailer launch. Reportedly, the ex-couple was behaving awkwardly at the event. They were seen ignoring each other.

When Shahid was quizzed at the promotional event of the movie, the actor said, "Firstly, how do you decide that we were awkward? Were we staring at each other? If Kareena and I had pictures together, then people would write only about that and talk only about that. We were there as a team of four to promote ‘Udta Punjab’. I wanted the movie to be represented well. That is why we made sure we are standing in a way that the press will not click pics that they want to click, which are controversial and put out something wrong out there. We wanted to be correct about the representation of the film."
The movie ‘Udta Punjab’ is slated to release on 17th June.

 

Director Abhishek Chaubey has revealed that his Udta Punjab star Shahid Kapoor got so involved with the character of the rockstar Tommy Singh that he got some rapping skills. Abhishek shared that he was surprised when the 35-year-old actor finished the rap in one take for the title track.

Abhishek said, “Shahid has become Tommy Singh, he has rapped even in Chitta Ve and this further helped him rap in this track as well. He has enjoyed the process and actually finished the rap part of the song in one take. We have used the same footage in the final track.”

Shahid has rapped in both his tracks from the film — Chitta Ve and the title song Ud-Daa Punjab – which was released recently.

Now being a heartthrob among Punjabis, Diljit thought of keeping it a secret and shooting for his Punjabi film 'Sardaarji 2' in Australia in a hush hush manner. However, when he landed and came out of the airport, he was instead welcomed with an amazing surprise by his fans from Australia who came in numbers of thousands to see him. They all were waiting for him at the airport for hours before he landed and when he did arrive there was chaos and Diljit was overwhelmed with the fanfare.

When asked Diljit about the same he said, "It was completely overwhelming to see my dear fans waiting to surprise me at the airport. It was really shocking to see so many people be waiting for us and I was honestly and truly humbled. It defiantly feels great to receive love from all the corners of the world especially when you're least expecting it, I will make all my attempt to keep up to their expectations".

Well, now lets wait to see how Diljit Bollywood ke Dil Jeettha hai.... 'Udta Punjab' is slated to release on June 17 2016.

 

The revising committee of Censor board, Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT) has demanded harsh actions to the makers, in order to obtain the certificate. The makers of the movie went to FCAT after the first committee demanded some cuts. The FCAT now wants the word Punjab to be dropped from the title.

Strangely, the Reviewing Committee is taking a view that the film is defamatory to the Punjab state. They are demanding a lot of cuts which are against the reality of the movie.

Apparently, sources have indicated that political pressure is being put on the boards as Punjab elections are slated early next year.

Now, the speculations also are that the movie’s release will be delayed and will be shifted to July.

 

Censor Board demands 89 cuts for Udta Punjab

Udta Punjab, starring Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh is slated to release on June 17. The movie was earlier censored with an A certificate after 40 cuts. As the team felt cutting too many scenes would reduce the impact in story, the makers appealed to revising committee, where it is said that they have demanded 89 cuts.



It is reported that revising committee wants to remove the reference to Punjab and demands the makers to use some fictional land instead of Punjab. The movie is co-produced by Phantom Films and Balaji Motion Pictures.

Diljit's Bollywood debut has sure made everyone take notice, and his close to reality tough cop act in Udta Punjab looks really promising.

However, as per a report by Miss Malini, two well-known Bollywood actors were previously offered Diljit’s role. Bollywood heartthrobs Ayushmann Khurrana and Fawad Khan were offered the role before it was passed on to Diljit. However, they had turned down the role becasue it was lesser important than that of Shahid’s.

Nevertheless, we are absolutely loving Diljit’s stance in the film and can’t wait to see him in it.
