MAARI 2 trailer: Dhanush returns with entertainment and revenge

Dhanush had already flabbergasted with his super duper performance in MAARI that released back in 2015. The actor had announced the sequel of the film earlier and had intrigued with the posters and his looks from the film. Undoubtedly his fans were waiting for the film's trailer since Dhanush had made the announcement. the day has finally come and the trailer has hit the internet.
After 8 years Maari returns back to the town with witty and notorious stuff. Maintaining his power, he promises tons of humor with a dark side as he is challenged by his deadly rivals and enemies. Past returns with revenge as it cannot be erased. The trailer already stuns with its high-end action and visuals. Dhanush has never failed to impress his fans with mind-blowing performance and naturally he will yet again a box office hit. Sai Pallavi as his hotshot life companion even more spices up the film and Tovino Thomas as the devilish villain brings up more fury for the audiences. Robo Shankar and Kalloori Vinooth will continue to play Dhanush’s sidekicks in the gangster comedy, while Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Krishna will be seen in pivotal roles. Directed by Balaji Mohan the film is slated to release on 21st December.

 

Maari 2 trailer: Dhanush aces portrayal of an unabashed, moustache-twirling local don

Maari 2 makers have released the trailer of the Dhanush-starrer. Directed by Balaji Mohan, Maari 2 marks Dhanush and Mohan's second collaboration post Maari. Dhanush's character keeps the idiosyncrasies of the dhoti-clad, moustache-twirling local don intact in the sequel as well. While he delivers heavy dialogues like "It's hard to kill a man who doesn't care about death," the police authorities seem exasperated as they have been trying to trace him for the last eight years.

Maari, along with his band of cronies goes about doing Robin Hood-esque activities. All this while, he thinks people hate him and are scared of him. However, the "naughtiest Don" is, in fact, loved and respected by people. Sai Pallavi plays a feisty girl, determined to win Maari's love. The two share several funny moments in the clip.

The dialogues don't disappoint either, hilarious one=liners are thrown around. As the antagonist (played by Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas) threatens Maari with "you don't know me Maari, I'm a very very bad man," Dhanush's character simply replies, "If you are bad, I am your dad."


Ample slow motion shots and zoom-ins establish Maari's larger-than-life aura.

Actors Robo Shankar and Vinod, who played Dhanush's sidekicks in the first part will also be a part of Maari 2.

Maari 2 trailer: Dhanush resumes playing the ‘naughtiest don’
Maari 2 trailer: Maari 2, like its predecessor, is filled with many colourful characters, fun music (Yuvan Shankar Raja), energetic dance moves, a barrage of punchlines and umpteen slow-motion shots.


The trailer of director Balaji Mohan’s upcoming film Maari 2 was released on Tuesday. With Dhanush reprising his cheerful gangster role, the sequel to 2015 action comedy promises a lot of entertainment.


Judging from the trailer, Maari has been off the grid for eight years. Neither the police or gangsters know about his whereabouts. But, when the spotlight falls on Maari, we understand nothing seems to have changed around him except for the female lead – Kajal Agarwal is replaced with Sai Pallavi.

Sai Pallavi plays Araathu Aanandhi, a free-spirited auto rickshaw driver who is in love with Maari. And she even succeeds in marrying him.

When Maari resumes playing the don in a lower-middle-class neighborhood, he is up against a very dangerous opponent this time. So dangerous that he goes by the street name – Death (Tovino Thomas). Krishna Kulasekaran plays Kalai, who seems to be Maari’s friend but it could well be a ruse. Robo Shankar and Kalloori Vinoth’s characters haven’t made a lot of progress in the criminal world in all these years. They are still the unambitious sidekick duo that stokes Maari’s ego at frequent intervals.

The film was shot in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously and it will be Dhanush’s second release this year after the wildly successful gangster film Vada Chennai. The cinematographer for the film is Om Prakash, editing is by Prasanna GK and Amaran has overseen production design.

Dhanush will next join the sets of director Vetrimaaran’s untitled film before he resumes shooting for Vada Chennai 2 with the same director.
