Reporter: Shkodran, you happy & satisfied now?
Mustafi: Yeah I am. If a big move like this happens, there is always a lot that has to be planned, discussed and talked about, but when you finally sign you are relieved and ultimately also satisfied with it.

 

Reporter: It took a while in the last few days and weeks right?
Mustafi: Like I said, its not always easy, there are 3 parties, the two clubs and the player. Everyone is of course trying to get the best for each other, so its natural it takes a bit of time

 

Mustafi: But it was good that we all stuck to it, and that we ultimately all found a solution

 

R: Big club. So it was the logical step, but why Arsenal?
Mustafi: For me its like you said, a big club, a giant club with giant history. A club that always plays up there, always in Europe too - and what was also important to me, its that I've taken a step forward.

 

Mustafi: In my career I've always looked out for taking steps forward. For me its the logical next step. Playing in the Champions League, playing with teammates from who you can learn, who have big experience, so its why I moved there.

 

Mustafi: For me its also important to have a coach whose been there for many many years and takes care of everything, so that I only have to worry about my own football.

 

Reporter: The German community keeps growing in London. Have you spoken to Ozil and Per? What did they tell you, what did they advise you?

Mustafi: I haven't spoken to Per yet, since I haven't seen him for a while, but I spoke with Mesut and he told me everything. How the club is, how its run etc. Everything he said was very positive, and I was quickly convinced since I find the club awesome. Its not quite the typical English club who plays the typical English football but instead the football that I like.
The football that I played in Spain & in the national team, with the ball on the ground and moving forward with passes. So I was very quickly sure that I wanted to go there and I didn't need much convincing.
