    ചാര്‍ലി പ്രതീക്ഷകള്‍ തെറ്റിച്ചില്ല. റിലീസിന് മുന്‍പ് ട്രെയ്‌ലറിനും പാട്ടുകള്‍ക്കും ലഭിച്ച വന്‍ സ്വീകാര്യത തീയേറ്ററുകളിലും പ്രതിഫലിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ ആദ്യദിന കളക്ഷനില്‍ ചാര്‍ലി സമീപകാല റെക്കോര്‍ഡുകള്‍ തകര്‍ത്തു. സമീപകാല മലയാളസിനിമയില്‍ ആദ്യദിന കളക്ഷനിലൂടെ വാര്‍ത്ത സൃഷ്ടിച്ച മോഹന്‍ലാല്‍ ചിത്രം ലോഹത്തെയും നിവിന്‍ പോളി ചിത്രം പ്രേമത്തെയുമാണ് ചാര്‍ലി മറികടന്നത്. ആദ്യദിനം ചാര്‍ലി 2 കോടി 45 ലക്ഷം രൂപ :1st:നേടിയെന്നാണ് തീയേറ്ററുകളില്‍ നിന്ന് ലഭിക്കുന്ന അനൗദ്യോഗിക കണക്ക്. രഞ്ജിത്-മോഹന്‍ലാല്‍ ചിത്രമായ ലോഹത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യദിന കളക്ഷന്‍ 2 കോടി 16 ലക്ഷം രൂപയായിരുന്നു :2nd:. എന്നാല്‍ തീയേറ്ററുകളില്‍ തരംഗം സൃഷ്ടിച്ച അല്‍ഫോന്‍സ് പുത്രന്‍-നിവിന്‍ പോളി ചിത്രമായ പ്രേമത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യദിന കളക്ഷന്‍ ഈ ചിത്രങ്ങളുമായി തട്ടിച്ചുനോക്കുമ്പോള്‍ കുറവായിരുന്നു. 70 തീയേറ്ററുകളില്‍ മാത്രമായിരുന്നു പ്രേമം റിലീസായത്.

    എന്നാല്‍ കേരളത്തില്‍ മാത്രം 97 തീയേറ്ററുകളിലായിരുന്നു ചാര്‍ലി വ്യാഴാഴ്ച റിലീസായത്. കേരളത്തിന് പുറത്ത് 11 കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിലെ 77 സ്‌ക്രീനുകളില്‍ ചിത്രം ക്രിസ്മസ് ദിനത്തില്‍ പ്രദര്‍ശനം ആരംഭിച്ചു. ബംഗളൂരു, മൈസൂര്‍, മംഗലാപുരം, മണിപ്പാല്‍, ചെന്നൈ, കോയമ്പത്തൂര്‍, ഹൈദരാബാദ്, മുംബൈ, പൂണെ, ഗുജറാത്ത്, ഡല്‍ഹി എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലാണ് ഇന്നുമുതല്‍ ചാര്‍ലി എത്തുക. കേരളത്തിന് പുറത്ത് ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് സബ്‌ടൈറ്റിലുകളോടെയാണ് ചാര്‍ലി പ്രദര്‍ശിപ്പിക്കുക.

    യൂറോപ്പ്, ആസ്‌ട്രേലിയ, ന്യൂസിലാന്‍ഡ്, സിംഗപ്പൂര്‍, തായ്‌ലന്‍ഡ്, ജപ്പാന്‍, ഹോങ്കോങ്, ബ്രൂണെ എന്നീ രാജ്യങ്ങളില്‍ പുതിവര്‍ഷ ദിനത്തിലും ചിത്രം പ്രദര്‍ശനത്തിനെത്തും.
