    Hiddink: FA Cup is huge

    Ahead of our first FA Cup fixture of the season, Guus Hiddink feels winning the competition would be a great achievement for the club and has spoken of his satisfaction in seeing his work on the training ground already having an effect on the pitch.

    The Dutch manager has lifted the trophy with Chelsea once before, guiding us to a 2-1 victory over Everton in the 2009 final, in the last game of his previous spell in west London, and considers winning it as a big honour.

    'It is considered a huge achievement worldwide,' he said. 'The impact of the FA Cup is huge worldwide. You can get a reaction from Australia to Asia to the west coast of the United States. It's huge.'

    While the planet's oldest football competition clearly carries a lot of prestige, it has the added incentive for the Blues that the cup competitions seem likely to offer our best chance of claiming silverware in 2015/16, given our position in the Premier League.
