Actor Karthi is getting ready for his second release of the year - Kaithi directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Produced by Dream Warrior Pictures, Kaithi which also stars Narain, Vatsan, Arjun Das is releasing on October 25 as Diwali special, and will be clashing at the box office with Bigil.

On the other hand, Karthi is preparing for his next movie, the big budget movie Ponniyin Selvan directed by Maniratnam. The movie is based on the novel by Kalki Krishnamurthy and the actor is now growing hair for the movie, as he is said to be playing the role of Vanthiyadevan.

The latest speculation making rounds is that after the completion of Maniratnam's Ponniyin Selvan, which is expected to be mid 2020, Karthi might team up with writer and director Raju Murugan for a movie. Raju Murugan has completed Gypsy with Jiiva and is reportedly writing script for this movie.
