The movies second half is filled with full of matches and suspenses. The climax of the movie executed very well like the first part of the movie. Guys watch that thing in theatres get a goosebumb.

Overall the movie is a good watch for those who like Venkat Prabhu entertaining elements. Those who loved the first part of the movie will surely love this movie. Venkat Prabhu had a good comeback through this movie by reuniting the Chennai Sharks team.

Chennai 600028 II Second Innings movie review: Venkat and team hit a boundary again

Chennai 600028 II: Second Innings does have some shortcomings in terms of narration and comedy when compared to its predecessor. But, the film’s steady pace and cricket makes it watchable. While Venkat hit a sixer with Chennai 600028, he has somehow managed a four with the sequel.

Thumbs Up:

• Venkat Prabhu never disappoints with a multi-starrer and this time too he has lived upto the expectations. The story and screenplay are apt, engaging and humourous. A well etched comedy entertainer laced with drama and emotions.

• Among the star cast, everyone has done equally well, Shiva's witty one liners is definitely a highlight.

• Yuvan' music is definitely one of the main highlights of the film with the Soppana Sundari song standing out.

• The music is well complimented by the visuals and sleek cuts.

Verdict: A Comedy Riot

The biggest strength of Chennai 28 II is the effervescent chemistry between the boys. Despite the physical changes, they are still energetic and it is nostalgic to see them back on the big screen. We start rooting for the boys and want them to win. Kudos to Venkat Prabhu for making a film which will appeal to youngsters especially boys. On the down side, the film is bit too long at 154 mints. There is no emotional connect and too much of boozing was unwanted.

The director has extracted the best from his actors. Shiva and Jai have made a good comeback, while Premji seem to be at his best in his brother's films. Vaibhav as Marudhu is very good while rest of the supporting cast are well-utilised. Technically, Chennai 28 II is the upgraded version of the first part. Be it cinematography or music, the film looks slick. Especially Yuvan has used fresh tunes along with rehashed versions from the first part to kindle our memory.

Overall, Chennai 28 II is a jolly good film which is a satisfying watch.
