Kubo is a kid with one eye taken from him as a baby by his grandfather, he's a story teller in his village . Then in an attempt to make contact with his father in the after world, brings him back on his grandfather's radar who sends his aunts to get him as he goes on a journey to find his father's Armour for protection.

The story was implemented so well through animation. It was so imaginative.

They really moved the characters around, and the characters are worth moving. Very artistic and colorful. I especially like Monkey, from the character design to the voice of Charlize Theron.

    Overall, very good looking picture.

After stumbling upon the brutal murder of a young woman, the members of a struggling punk rock band (the late Anton Yelchin, Alia Shawkat, Joe Cole and Callum Turner) find themselves fighting for survival against a gang of highly organised, Neo-Nazi skinheads led by cold-blooded, heroin dealer Darcy (Patrick Stewart).
Straight to the point plot, and an excellent cast really worked well together.
"Green Room" is a gory tense filled adrenaline rush of a film that never lets go of its grip and takes you through this punk and Nazi tale of violence.

    Oldboy (Korean)

Oldboy is a brutally brilliant cinema. The term cinematic brilliance is apt for this flick. To be honest, this movie cannot be watched again for its disturbingly emotional plot, gruesome to the core. The performances are just fabulous with every actor delivering sumptuous act,the performance Choi-Min-Sik in climax is the one look out for - one hell of a performance.

Park Chan Wook's mettle as a brilliant filmmaker can be understood from this cinema, top notch making. The soundtracks are another superb aspect in this cinema, the bgm during the post climax scenes were just awesome.Like saving the best for the last, its indeed the stunning plot twist that makes this cinema compete - Baap of all twists.

    Overall,Oldboy is Brilliant !

    Swiss Army Man

Swiss Army Man is a smart and interesting comedy drama.A wacky plot has been made into a feel-good cinema with enough moments to get engaged. This one is a complete performance driven cinema & both the lead actors have done their part exceptionally well.Paul Dano and Daniel Radcliffe were at their best, its their chemistry and lively conversation that makes this cinema works.

Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, the director duo have managed to pull of a decent watchable cinema, although their narration was quite inconsistent. At times, this looked more of an art-house stuff due to its sluggish pace & not so moving sequences,it was the perormances which uplifted the whole cinema. The soundtracks was another strength, superbly done, the bgm in the climax scene was just awesome.

Overall,Swiss Army Man is an Interesting Cinema !

    The Hollars

The Hollars is a finely crafted comedy drama.A simple plot has been elevated by its stellar cast & a deeply engaging narrative. The performances were just fabulous, every actor played it to the galore.Shartlo Copley,Richard Denkins,John Krainski & Margo Martindale were at their best, the best thing about the cast was the way they handled some of the emotional sequences - subtle and brilliant.

John Krainski being the director did an impressive job.His making is indeed one of the aspect which made this cinema engaging. This one is basically a subtle & comic take on an emotionally strong plot, the narrative is filled with some nice feel-good moments & superbly written dialogues.

Overall,The Hollars is an Impressive Comedy Drama !

    The Legend of Barney Thomson

The Legend of Barney Thomson offers a fine one time watch.Crafted as a comic thriller, this one has got some genuine laughs whereas the nail-biting moments required for a thriller was missing. It is indeed Robert Carlyle's earnest performance which makes this a watchable stuff,he shouldered the whole film in all means.Emma Thompson was a surprsie package, nicely acted.Ray Winston & Ashley Jenson were really good.

Robert Carlyle was able to materialize his debut directorial venture as a decent watchable flick.A completely illogical plot has been presented in the wackiest way possible, but it does have some moments for sure. This one in short is brainless comic caper.

Overall,The Legend of Barney Thomson is Watchable !

    Nine Lives

Nine Lives ranks among Kevin Spacey's worst films. Its a below average cinema that has been made on a shoestring budget,a low quality stuff.Except Malina Weissman, none of the actors have nothing much to perform,Malina is damn cute & puts up a good performance.

Barry Sonnenfeld as the director doesn't had a clear picture on what the final output will be,a total disaster. From the director who made the Men in Black Franchise, this one is a colossal disappointment.A film which tried hard to be in the lines of the highly entertaining cinema 'Click',but never got there.

    Overall,Nine Lives is a Disappointment !

    4/10

Between, why Christopher Walken always appears in the role of a mysterious guy, first in Click & now this one [IMG]
